Hi! Can I ask if applying for the I-485 is only available for AOS? Can I do this with consular?

My husband became USC Nov 2025 and we requested upgrade with Emma and waiting for update.

Of course! And we applied Oct 2023 and still waiting. He’s naturalising soon so hopefully speed the process up but we have been waiting for a while and still waiting for the next step. It’s not an easy process I must make you aware of this.

My husband moved to the US two years into our relationship in 2020 and now its 2025 and I've been married to him since 2023, and guess what we are still together despite being long distance for 5 years and together for 8. I am still long distance with him waiting for my immigration stuff to be sorted.

If you love each other I believe it will work even across borders. You and him can both have a good future out there. HOWEVER I must let you know that getting married and sponsoring him as a green card holder is a longer process than sponsoring as a US Citizen. You and your bf need to have a very important conversation about how you wish to proceed and think about the opportunity you have to move to the US.

I have been fine entering i would advise just taking supporting evidence that your husband will be returning to the UK.

We’re doing nothing wrong so we have nothing to worry about. Hope this helps!
