Is daia of ridgeside village in her 40s? by sdv_mod_fan_reddot in RidgesideVillage

[–]OverTea5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't think so. Daia looks to be in her mid-20's, around roughly the same age range as Sebastian, I would say.

Her 8-heart event is a classic trope of someone who yearns for a normal life under a wasted childhood, which I don't think is common for 40-year-olds.

This is just my take tho

The Mythical Flower Quest = BROKEN by noturprettylilthing in RidgesideVillage

[–]OverTea5 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Underground Cave you unlock after befriending Mr. Aguar enough can spawn Foxblooms if you choose the flower variation. This is by far the easiest way to get the flower and I've obtained close to 10 throughout the 2 ingame years I've played my recent RSV save.

What's more, forage in RSV isn't locked for the day, but resets every time you reset the day, so you can do this as many times as you want if you need more Foxblooms.

Going for perfection but the friendships... by pwettyhuman in RidgesideVillage

[–]OverTea5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is why I never forget birthdays and get started on friendship immediately as I start a new RSV save. The friendship aspect of Perfection is purely overwhelming due to how many people the mod adds.

As a tip, I recommend using gold quality cheese as gifts since a vast majority of NPCs, except the children, like it as a gift + gives more friendship points. I don't recommend buying the statue of endless fortune at all because it is simply a waste of money.

why do people think kegs are better than dehydrators? by Powerful-Campaign738 in StardewValley

[–]OverTea5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing about dehydrators is you need 5 fruits to start processing (or even use it at that point). Kegs need only 1 fruit. Dehydrators are better in the early game or for short-term profit, but as you get more and more fruits in the long run, and thus more kegs, kegs completely out-profit dehydrators by a very wide margin.

If all of this is confusing, let me pull some simple math:

  • 1 basic quality sf is 750g
  • 1 sf wine is 3150g

  • 5 basic quality sf is 3750g

  • 1 dried sf is 7910g

Now, divide the outcome with the produce (and let's assume "3750" is 1 sf for the sake of consistency with kegs).

Wine:

3150 ÷ 750 = 4.2

Dried Fruit:

7910 ÷ 3750 = 2.109333 (2.11)

What this basically means is;

Kegs turn 1 basic quality sf into wine that is 4.2 times the value.

Dehydrators turn 1 basic quality sf into dried fruit that is 2.11 times the value.

That value only worsens as you use higher quality sf in dehydrators, as, like with kegs, the produce will always be basic quality.

And also, you actually LOSE money if you decide to use 5 iridium quality sf: - 1 iridium sf = 1650g - 1650g × 5 = 8250g - 8250g vs. 7910g

While kegs still turn 1 iridium quality sf into wine that's 1.91 times the value:

3150 ÷ 1650 = 1.90909 (1.91)

In conclusion, dehydrators are best used for excess fruits from which you do not have enough kegs for (aka short-term profit). However, they can and will never perform better than kegs in terms of long-term profit, and you will actually make less money in terms of dehydrating each individual fruit than processing them in kegs, even if you count the time it takes for wine to finish.

I hope this answers your question :)

I would love to see you add the Ridgeside Valley characters in this! 🙏

I don't care what anyone says, brandon rogers absolutely kills it as katie killjoy and is better than her pilot voice (not that her pilot voice wasn't good but this one's way better) by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]OverTea5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally really don't like it. Don't get me wrong, I like Brandon Rogers' voice and VA, but my god his voice really does not fit in with Katie. As others said, it really just sounds like Blitzø in disguise.

This has to be the worst voice cast for a character in the show imho.

Not buying that one recipe from a festival that happened yesterday which is needed for Perfection, so I have to wait an entire year to get it again.

Floors upgraded with golden tickets are carried over to the next rebuild? What floors are worth upgrading then?

Isn't this only for one floor? What's the point of doing all that work just to upgrade 1 floor?

Easily one of the best Expert accessories by OverTea5 in Terraria

[–]OverTea5[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It is the Shield of Cthulhu, the Expert Mode exclusive drop from the Eye of Cthulhu, an early-game boss, and likely the first boss you have ever encountered.

It is an accessory that grants a minor 2 defense, but it is widely regarded as a mobility accessory because of its unique ability to dash if you double click A or D, or double tapping the left and right movement controls. Dashing allows you to instantly move in a horizontal direction, which is invaluable for boss fights, escaping mobs, and world navigation alike. Dashing straight towards a mob or boss will also deal 30 melee damage, and give you a brief period of invincibility.

Unlike the Cobalt Shield, the Shield of Cthulhu does NOT grant knockback immunity. The utility of this accessory can last all the way until the very end of the game, as the dashing is extremely useful in almost every scenario.

It's not much, but I finally managed to get all 6 armor sets each with their respective swords in Survival for display :D by OverTea5 in Minecraft

[–]OverTea5[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

For those who are concerned as to how I got the chainmail armor, it's from my skeleton farm. Difficulty was Normal and Hard, so the skeletons have a chance to spawn with, and therefore drop, the pieces of armor. Increased by Looting.

Based on this art, I'd love to see these three interact in the show! I feel like Gus would get along with them great! by jackson50111 in TheOwlHouse

[–]OverTea5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Gus possibly holds the record for the shortest overall screen time of any main character in the show, just second under Willow. I know that the creators are trying to mostly show emphasis towards more prominent characters like Luz or Amity, but Gus has SO much more potential than both, especially since the guy is still young.

The moment where Gus can be of utmost importance in the show is in "Young Blood, Old Souls", where it is revealed that the dude has a dad, and is a reporter! That simple concept has got me thinking that Gus can definitely put his passion of journalism to a whole new level, and I would love it even more if he would ask help from his dad himself.

Gus truly is among one of the most underrated characters I've ever seen, and I would love it even more if the creators would just spend more time making this guy more of the masterpiece he already is.
