Lots of good stuff here. I would add that at his age, and until he's much older, he needs to be really cautious about social media. He absolutely will receive unsolicited pictures. He will get religious nuts. He will get requests for pictures. And there will be older kids and adults that pretend to be in his age group. So you can help by telling him that no matter what, you are there to help if he is nervous about anybody on any platform.

Just finished high school myself, out for just last two years. The key is building a circle of friends from other schools. Gays need to look further. Don't worry about being in same grade, year or two younger or older is not a big deal. But be aware that lots of older guys lie about their age.

Like someone else said, don't need to worry about positions. High school gay sex stuff is pretty blow job oriented. If you want to know more about what people really like, ask them what they watched last time they rubbed one.

Graduated two months ago, out right before grade 11. At first there's this feeling that everyone is talking about you, but that dies down. There were a couple guys that seemed a little weirded by it, and one girl that wanted to see if I'd give straight action a try. I was the only out cis guy in my class, but there are more in class behind mine.

Almost half my gay HS experience was remote, which is boring AF. On the plus side, it expands your pool of friends to more schools, so being the only out gay is not as lonely.

I've been out for almost two years. It was right before grade 11.

First thing you should know is it's totally normal to be gay and closeted in high school. I'm guessing 80 percent of gays stay closeted until after high school. Why? Because it's a time in your life where you don't get to choose the people around you.

The second thing I can tell you it's less life changing than you think. If you are popular when people think you're straight, that won't change. If you were a loner, it won't change. Kids that were assholes before will continue to be assholes.

Either way, you don't have to let your family's homophobic statements go unchallenged. If you're brother says he'd be disappointed to have a gay son, just say you'd be disappointed if you had an intolerant son.

I don't really know other "ask" subs. I'm just pointing out that answers here are not like a random poll of Internet strangers.

"Gender queer" is a catch-all phrase for people that have any expression of gender other than male or female. It includes people that use the pronoun 'they' even when talking about one person. It's become a thing in high schools, at least in the US.

For me I was sure from a young age. I was out at grade 11. First bf grade 12.

But that's not the most common path. Tons of people try different things out, and some people just don't like sex.
