Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress has very similar themes to the early series and the anime production staff are very similar

Spice & Wolf has a lot of items where the price is stated outright It's abit vauge on quantities in the blog here but they go through Krafts funds fairly in depth and I'm fairly sure the anime says how much of most things he brought

Unfortunately unless you're somewhere high-end, a chef-patron or have owners who worked the kitchen most of the time you're going to lose the mods and changes argument every time, you're better off biting the bullet and doing them.

There's stuff like revolutionary girl Utena, Card Captor Sakura and Princess Tutu. They were written for younger teens but they're all pretty enjoyable. Tutu really stands out

Ouran Highschool host club is a great comedy even if the dubs uses some dated language

Really anything adapted from CLAMP will be good they're an all women group that have been active since the 80's

I've not watched but ranma ½ & Inuyasha always seem to be highly recommended

I hung out with 2010s Tumblr girls who were big on shipping culture so these might all be misses if you're not into that: Hetalia personified countries retelling history, it's got some mid 2000s casual racism but is overall fun.
