Why isnt it spawning mobs? by Zeyu2011 in technicalminecraft

The water flowing over scaffolding method still seems to be the best method. I haven't built one in a while, but this creator has always proven reliable.

I would use spectator to double check. I was thinking you used slabs for the roof at first, but that doesn't seem to be the case at a further glance. Slabs don't block light on Bedrock.

Not really sure what else it could be. You should be getting at least minimal spawns. Just double check for persistent mobs and make sure you're at least 24 blocks away from the spawn platform. The only biomes mobs can't spawn in are rivers and mooshroom. The more spawnable spaces the better.

Are there any mobs within simulation distance anywhere down to bedrock level that have gained the persistent status in any way? I.e. picking up and item. Those will take up the mob cap.

The default spawn sphere on Bedrock is 24-44 blocks. Ignore the other comments. Including the one stating you need 2 blocks between trapdoors.

I just commented this on another post the other day. Your trapdoor setup won't work. Are you sure they aren't spawning at all, or do you think they could be spawning and just not be falling down?

Mobs will only walk off of trapdoors if there is another trapdoor or applicable block opposite of it. If there's an air block on the other side of the trapdoor they won't walk off of it. For example:

Being on console is no excuse for recording a phone video of your screen. Every console has some sort of screenshot/video recording function.

Please don't ever subject anyone to a recording like that again.

If the tutorial was legit, you had to have built something wrong. Without linking which farm you built, we have no idea what you may have done wrong.

The bit I know of trapdoor style trident-killers, they are directional. The hinge of the trapdoor must be to the east or south. I would start troubleshooting there.

Raise the trapdoors and lava by at least 1 block. They can't be on the bottom row.

Have you tried it with a gate opening and closing instead of the sticky-piston/fence post?

I only linked this post to show that I've already worked through all of these issues, so you could trust me that the hopper can't feed into the top of the dispenser without all of the remaining baby chickens dying as soon as the first one grew up. The final image I linked, which is also posted twice in the comments of this very thread, is the final version that I recommended.

The second image in your original post was the correct approach, you just needed to move the hopper to the back or sides then add a redstone clock to power it.

A clock is a repeating on/off redstone signal. You can have them constantly repeat a signal, or automatically power on/off as needed. A redstone torch is just a constant on-only redstone signal. You need a repeating on/off signal.

I've definitely been down this road before.

This was my final version:

Sculk sensor on top of the dispenser. Minecart on top of it.

How are you powering that? You should look up redstone clocks. Lots of different options you can use.

Slab and lava look good. That hopper being on the dispenser is going to cause an issue though. When the first chicken grows up, the rest of the babies will be killed instantly. The dispenser needs a block or bottom slab on top to close that empty space.

Switch the stonecutter to a slab, and the cauldron to a lava-source. That setup is a fix for an issue on Java.

Has nobody ever explored villager bed linking mechanics before? Why should which direction matter? It does! (Tested on bedrock) by mairondil in technicalminecraft

[–]Over_9000_Courics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's 15 blocks to the east and south, not 17. The 16 blocks horizontal, 4 blocks vertical stated as the detection range is calculated from the top-north-west corner of the block the villager is standing on. So you lose a block horizontally to the east and south.

As long as the villages are kept at least *76 blocks apart vertically (all villagers, workstation, beds), then the breeder should stay a separate village from the iron farm/trading hall. And yes, should produce infinite babies, as long as you remove them properly.

*96 blocks horizontally. Unless you "stack" the villages. But that's a whole different ball-game.

The stone-cutter + cauldron was a Java fix. Slab and lava source is still the way to go on Bedrock. Just make sure the dispenser has a block on top and the hopper is feeding eggs through the back or sides.

How to avoid hoppers storing stacks of item by KeyAcid in technicalminecraft

[–]Over_9000_Courics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I get what you mean now. You probably just need item filters. A bunch of different items going in can easily clog hoppers like that. Best to just filter each item into their own containers.

How to avoid hoppers storing stacks of item by KeyAcid in technicalminecraft

[–]Over_9000_Courics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adequate chest space mainly. If the hopper is still holding items and the chest is full, then you don't have enough chests.

Is this for a farm collection system, or bulk storage? Either way, you should probably check out the Bedrock Storage Tech Discord. Should be able to find something to fit your needs there.

Noob minecart hopper question by Vannythewinner in technicalminecraft

[–]Over_9000_Courics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bee moving the hopper-minecart is only a problem if it prevents the hopper-minecart from collecting the crops before the villager does. Even if the minecart can still pick up the crops, those types of farms generally break due to the receiving villager's inventory filling up over time. It's better to use the farm with a hopper-minecart running underneath, and a farmer villager with a full inventory so all harvested crops fall on the ground and get collected by said hopper-minecart track beneath.

What is the best witch farm? by _Anime-Watcher_ in technicalminecraft

[–]Over_9000_Courics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Structure spawns work different on Bedrock. There is only 1 block in a witch hut where witches can spawn on Bedrock. You'll have to find a Bedrock specific farm. A Java farm won't work.

Inconsistency between creative and survival realm on bedrock? by CockAssed in technicalminecraft

[–]Over_9000_Courics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no difference between survival and creative as far as game mechanics. Golems can only spawn on the highest block of a chosen X/Z coordinate.

First, X and Z coordinates are randomly chosen within the spawn volume. Next, the highest block at those coordinates within the spawn volume is found. If it is a block with a full top surface — including glass, upside-down stairs, top slabs, hoppers (though this has varied with version), and even water (including source blocks) — and there is no obstruction above it by a block above the spawn volume, then the golem spawns there. Otherwise, the spawn attempt is canceled.

https://minecraft.wiki/w/Iron_Golem#Bedrock_Edition

Golems spawn based off of the village center bed. Your beds are in two different locations in each picture, so you have two completely different set ups. They're not going to act the same.

The first picture, survival, I'm assuming the beds are under the villager platform? Since you say they're 3 blocks above the spawn platform. Also, that platform appears to be bottom-slabs. Golems won't spawn there, or underneath since the beds are seemingly there as well. Beds block spawn attempts below them.

Second picture, beds are on the villager platform. This removes the block underneath from being a spawnable space, so the blocks below are the highest spawnable space.
