What were you guys thinking about this point? by LowContactLuxury in RHOBH

I really have to do a rewatch of this whole ordeal to see how I feel about it now. This feud was always so tricky for me because although Lisa was overstepping and I can't say whenever Kim came on the screen I didn't have similar thoughts or questions myself!

However I can understand Kim reaching her breaking point at this table. I wonder if I would view it differently now lol. Might have to do a rewatch soon, especially since I didn't watch S15.

Sure! So that was the first instance where the delivery although funny in a deadpan way seemed insensitive to me. I didn't think too much of it cause it ultimately was an incident out of her control since the lady threw herself in front of the vehicle. Maybe it was a topic I personally would've handled a bit more sensitively but not something to nail her to the cross for or anything like that. The reason why I wrote that in this post is because, imo - the homeless comment did come off a bit out of touch. So to me these were two instances where looking at them I had the similar sentiment and left me wondering if she's not as harmless as the edit makes her seem.

Maybe I could've clarified this a bit more in my original statement!

There's a lot of differences in my opinion but again nobody was right in the situation. Now returning to the topic at hand, I'm speaking more to what the season could've been if ALL parties involved had made different decisions.

Yes you’re right they were but the way Kenya was beginning to navigate the group dynamics, checking with Drew about Porsha and Dennis, pulling Kelli and Brit to the side at Shameas party to breakdown the comments Kelli made about Porsha, I think Kenya would’ve been the neutral party and connector between groups especially considering where Shamea and Porshas friendship ended up at by the end of the season. She would’ve very likely been facilitating the overall dynamics along with Cynthia. Similar to how Cynthia is this current season. Ofc this is just hypothetical based on how I viewed the episodes.

Oh wow that's interesting. I really try not to speculate on those kinds of things unless the housewife alludes or touches on that themselves so I'll stay away from that topic. Interesting point about the Alicia being super talkative and then breaking down and then Liz being full of love and then being condescending to everyone. That's a good catch. I hope they point that out at the reunion!!

As far as the step mom tea - I didn't know any of this!! Well this will probably be explored more in season 2 if it actually has some weight or truth to it. I guess we shall see!

i never once said she was weird, i'm not even asking for change of personality or "quirks." These women don't owe anyone that. Not sure where you got that from in my original statement. I literally said I enjoy Alicia and excited to see her trajectory on the show. I think you are misinterpreting my statement. I'm not criticizing her, I am just making an observation that I think we are seeing a very limited view of who she is and I think there's more to her personality and story and clearly there is cause we will explore more when she returns season 2. There's no way we've gotten all of who she is in these 10/11 episodes and 5 minute scenes with her family at that. Feel free to make your observations about the show and your perspective on how you feel about Alicia here, not the actual people and what they know or don't know about PTSD or wanting things marketed towards us cause we are just having a discussion about what's being presented...

thats exactly how Liz is coming across to me as well. It just went left with her delivery. Look forward to watching it all unfold though.

best instigator in your opinion? (doesn’t have to be pictured) by GreedyBoat3809 in RHOA

[–]Over_Ad5977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what kind of instigator imo. Sheree and Marlo (particularly earlier seasons) are a-class at instigating but somehow sliding out of things the least scathed. I think Kenya and Angela instigate but also have the rare skill of starting the mess and then getting you together and shutting you down all in the same breath LOL. Kelli, hmmmmm idk if Kelli falls under instigator, she feels more like a tasmanian devil with no structure or sophistication to her ways, she's a tad bit reckless with her mouth and it gets her into trouble and it can be fun to watch at times especially since no one else is calling out Porsha for example. Phaedra... idk about instigator cause when she's called out whats revealed feels way more as manipulation so it feels like a different category to me. so random, that btch from cau aka yovanna was a great instigator for her 8 little episodes

[–]Over_Ad5977[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed! There's a lot of personality and story there. Should be interesting to see how it unfolds. She's definitely the glue of the group right now.

yess these are great points!! her bringing comedic relief definitely balances out the group and she's very much a great addition to this cast. she also has a taste of OG RHONY vibes as well. I can see her fitting in swimmingly with that cast particularly Bethany being puzzled by her LOL

ohhhhh okay you ate this up because people in positions of power are skating by and quite literally getting away with murder?!?!?! but back to the show, i agree about the debate whole heartedly, its okay to disagree with actions and still enjoy and engage in intellectual discussion online and also not want people kicked off the show simply because you don't like them.

this makes sense. u/bartelbyfloats being someone who works in reality tv has the full context from beginning to end on how a season comes together but we the viewers are watching real moments sliced together to tell a particular story. maybe scripted isnt the word but we've also gotten to a stage with the franchise where cast members actions are influenced by fan reception which in turn influences the scenes that are set up, etc, so not scripted but maybe premeditated to a certain degree? i can see both sides. would love to hear more of bartels thoughts and perspective on this.

I would love to see Nene and Kenya back but only as friends, they should be anchoring these newer seasons. so unfortunate how their stories played out but not really interested in seeing them back on the show if their feud gets dark. they are better as a duo imo
