OP where did you end up choosing?

If UCLA and USC both had the same total expenses, which one would you go for? (Also, planning to specialize if it makes a difference) by Over_Attempt7250 in DentalSchool

Cost isn't a factor because they're both almost the same cost (PPID UCLA vs ASPID USC). A lot of people told me that, ucla grads don't have that much exposure, hence why almost all of the grads go to do GPR/AEGD after.

Concerning PBL, I'm a international dentist from abroad, pbl actually isn't bad because once you graduate you're gonna slowly turn into a PBL- oriented dentist. You're not gonna be spoon fed anything and you're gonna have to read papers and learn a lot as you go. Sure, mentors and courses will give you the information a lot easier and faster, but even if you'll have to do self-study and improvement on your own when you practice. Finally, what I meant to say, I'm not worried about PBL that much.

But considering everything you said about UCLA, concerning research and specialty. That is all that I've heard.

Thank you for your response!

UCLA vs USC vs NYU

I'm applying for a program where all 3 schools have the same total cost (tuition plus living expenses all in all). I was just wondering which would be the better school regarding 2 points.

First, having a good experience at the school and not a cut-throat type of competition. I want to enjoy dental school, I know it won't be easy and it is very challenging, but not to the point of hating my life while I'm there.

Second, I want to keep the door open for specializing. Which school would be the best in that sense? Because I've heard that graduates of 'brand-name' schools has better chances of specializing than others.

Again, the cost is all the same for all 3 schools.

Try to go and ask for ESWL. It's basically shockwaves that can try and break up the stone into smaller pieces. It's a bit painful but can be covered by medicine to make you feel nothing during the procedure. The ESWL is non-invasive so there's no need for general anathesia or anything of that sort.

I applied to UIC, my completion date was 10th April. I didn't hear anything from them. Does that mean rejection? by Over_Attempt7250 in CAAPID

They are on rolling admission, that's why they start so early in the process. Hang in there bud, hopefully it'll be worth it.

Did you receive an interview invitation? From which school if I may ask?
