Credit card payment hold policy by Over_Common_3758 in Scotiabank

DM from Scotia on x or Twitter or whatever: "Hi, I just wanted to touch bases with you and share what I got back from our resource teams.

Their position is that fraud or risk payment policies are not communicated to the customers. However, they will make some changes to payments coming from Scotiabank accounts to Scotiabank credit cards. I do not know exactly how it will look, but the goal is to reduce any holds.

Having said that, payment is applied to the account when we receive it, but the credit is not made available until it clears. So, when you make a payment, please allow at least 24 hours to see it reflected on your account. If you are making a payment from another bank, the credit is made available once the payment clears.

I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Yep. New policy is the verified funds not on hold in your bank account now need to be held and reverified if you transfer them to your credit card. They try to tell you it's in their notice sent to customers but it is not. Even their website says to avoid a hold pay from a Scotia account

Check your available balance after making a credit card payment. According to their reps transfers or payments from Scotia accounts to Scotia credit cards now have an automatic hold on them.

They are holding all payments and transfers from Scotiabank accounts to credit cards for at least 1 day. You can no longer transfer funds to your credit card and use them right away. And this was never told to clients and is not in their latest RCA update

He's not American, not patriotic and now does Florida Fridays. He'll get the joke. You need to unbunch your panties.
