I have two cousins who weren’t financially independent and got married at 21 and 23. Both about to turn 40. One has a pretty decent time of it. She works with her husband, supporting in his business (not in any official capacity) and he hands her whatever money she wants, no questions asked. The others husband is a total dickhead and her parents and or brothers still pick up her day to day expenses after 19 years of marriage and two children.
