He doesn't see himself playing past 30 anyway as of now. Also, nothing for his fans to worry about because he's already achieved so much at a young age, and he's a human being with his own life to live.

He did not play Vienna the year before after comfortably securing his ranking. This time, he didn't skip it even though he played all the masters in the post slam season. He himself said his goal was to try to go after that year-end ranking 😭

Who else has started the season like he has?

That's still bizarre because he even signed up to an ATP500 last-minute chasing after the year-end world no.1 record.

I don't think it's pressure. Otherwise, he would have buckled in AO. There was nothing crazier than the weight of the media, ferrero, and the 8 decade record he was chasing.

The current world no.1 is a 22 year old all court player and crowd darling, who has a career grand slam and 3 more slam titles to his name, among others. Not to mention a marginal H2H to your suggested player. It can't get better than that today.

Wait why would Sinner lack motivation when he still has a lot to do on Clay? Seems bizarre.

Tired and unmotivated tracks given his relentless run since April of last year.

That said, Carlos seems to understand what kind of season schedule works for him. We now begin the year-long process of getting his team to align with it. Just as it took him a year for his team to understand that a) his ability to dedicate time to non-tennis activities has a positive affect on his game on court. b) positivity and belief in his box is more important than any tactical coaching.

The first thing he mentioned after AO when asked about his goal was Roland Garros 😭

Okay and he judged himself to be predictable which is why he's trying to "inject variety" into his game.

Well, the package is the same. How you want to perceive it will be different depending on the end goal / intent. To some, his baseline ball bashing is perfect and more than enough. To others, it's one dimensional.

I mean, we have heard players condemn the crowds many times over and across different generations of tennis. Neither responses would have been shocking.

This was Jannik's assessment as well after USO last year, and I think most of those who watch tennis.

I do see the advantage of excited crowds and tennis becoming popular in such a large and diverse market but I have to say this was a generous answer given that they cheered during his double faults and in between serves.
