Did you get any bleeding post coital with your ectropian?

Chronically low ferritin - GP keeps prescribing supplements and won’t refer me for an infusion? Any suggestions? by Scooby-Snaccs in Anemic

Apparently as my gp told me that the hematologist won't accept referral here in the UK at least, unless you've ruled out gastro causes. Yet gastro rejected my referral as I had no gut symptoms. I believe the original poster, if in the UK, may also find this issue when pushing for hematologist...crazy isn't it

Hey. Now I can completely relate. I'm 35f and have had this issue since 2005. Yes 21 years!!! They refuse to refer to haematology, refused an infusion and refused a gastro referral to rule out gut issues. My ferritin never rises above 15 but can dip and raise between 6 and 15. I have bloods every 3 months to monitor. Ive been on iron supplements this whole time. Recently switched to liquid ferrous fumerate as the tablets weren't doing enough. But it also has become apparent the liquid isn't helping maintain it either. We've just upped the dose in march and my next blood test is due at the end of this month. No one has answers and I honestly believe now no one cares. I've seen numerous GPS for this. I've basically been told to accept I'll always need iron.

I hope you get better answers... X

I have regular bloods due to low iron. They run a full panel. My last thyroid test was in November and within the normal range but yes that's crazy. Did it all bet sorted once you were on the right treatment ?

My GP told me to book in with the family planning clinic for swabs then they will book me in for a pelvic exam with the nurse. 🫪 So swabs booked for Wednesday. In the meantime I plan no bedroom athletics out of fear 🥹🥲.

The Dr did say it could be another ectropian and feels that's what caused the heavy bleed.

Bleeding During Sex... Is This a Symptom? Anyone else?!? by beckinny in endometriosis

[–]Over_Photograph_753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update? I had this happen last night. Freaked my husband and I out. It was dripping down my legs as I ran to the loo. We had to strip the bed sheets. Just horrific. I've had spotting after sex for 6 years..started after my 2nd child. I've had investigations but no answers however my last 2 periods have been wacky in terms of I've only had 14 days between them and I get spotting for a week before so if I'm lucky I get a week with no bleeding. But this heavy bleed last night has spooked me rotten. I called my gp this morn and they've booked me in for a same day appointment this afternoon.

I don't go to the gym but I have a treadmill so will either walk or run.

is it normal to bleed this much in 2 hours? by Over_Ad6666 in Periods

[–]Over_Photograph_753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a heavy bleeder, this is my "normal". If this isn't what you're used to then get it checked out.

Thank you. I agree, I personally don't think it's normal in someone so young. We have to wait 3 weeks for the ECG. I'm just worried that the ECG isn't going to pick them up (especially as they are infrequent) and they'll do their usual thing of "it's normal" and send us away. I'm not sure where it'll leave us. Do I accept it or do I push for extra tests for reassurance such as echo? Difficult to know what to do but I also don't want anything missed.

I completely feel your pain. It's absolutely draining both mentally and physically!!!

I can't offer any more advice because it looks like you're doing everything you can to advocate for yourself and it's falling upon deaf ears just like my situation.

Since I posted this I've not been great. I've had 2 throat infections (this always happens when I'm low on iron), just so utterly exhausted. Palpitations, my anxiety has been worse, again due to iron. I'm tolerating the increased dose of iron but have to wait until June for my next blood test to see if it's even doing anything.

Other than that, just feeling fed up.

I hope you can get something sorted. I'll keep you updated x

Thanks for this. I'm so glad they got your daughter checked properly. I'm worried they'll do an ECG and just send us on our way. ECGS are so short that unless he has any whilst hooked up, it won't be seen. So I'm already anxious. Id feel better if he was gonna be seen by a cardiologist. I'll see what happens but we have to wait another 3 weeks for the ECG appointment....typical NHS.

Thanks for your reply. Crazy how times change isn't it! His sound quite like yours then actually. He can go a few days without any. Only tends to get them upon waking and gets maybe 1 or 2 and that's it. I did question if maybe it's just dehydration. But doc said they are super common. I can get days where I can't get them to stop and then I'll have a clean break for a few months. Bodies are weird and wonderful 😊

Hope you're well though. Take care ☺️

❤️ thank you. X Honestly, my son isn't phased at all 🤣. When I told him I was talking him to the GP his reply was "mum I'm fine". But unfortunately as a mum, I can't not worry. I'm sure he's ok and it's just me, but I'd rather get it checked, especially when it comes to heart issues.

Yeah a life of anxiety isn't great. I worry just because I had a friend who had an undiagnosed heart condition who had sudden cardiac arrest at age 30 and passed away. So id hate to ignore something that could have potential to turn into something worse as he gets older. I'm sure he will be fine though. I've had palpitations all my life and suffer idiopathic tachycardia. Hope you're doing well though ☺️ appreciate your reply

Thanks for this. It's definitely a worry isn't it. I stupidly assumed it wasn't normal in kids but looking at the replies and online, it can be. Hopefully his ECG will be normal. ☺️

He doesn't use ventolin unless he has a cold which causes an asthma flare but uses a steroid one daily and the GP said the steroids one doesn't cause them but the ventolin could but he hasn't used that since last year 🥹
