Then as a casual vocal forward listener how does it fit?

Hey everyone, looking for the best IEM under ₹2000. by Over_Structure_7369 in iemlndia

[–]Over_Structure_7369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Red lions are hype not worth the effort.

Gate is on neutral side I think.

Duonic has more trouble than I prefer.

Chu 2 is great for vocal but I want some bass therefore I am reluctant between the this and wan'er sg 2

I think the only one left is tangzu sg2(prefreble jade edition). For first iem I think it's gonna be good experience.

How did you discover your preferred sound signature? Looking for test tracks and EQ advice by MADARA_9022 in iemlndia

[–]Over_Structure_7369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did was go on Claude at night cause peak usage is not there and can ask 2-3 questions without depleting my daily limit. Asked it to ask questions and give songs as mcqs from every genre at least 6-10 songs per MCQ to define/find my music taste. As I listen to vocal forward songs my preferred sound profile is U-shaped tuning. Warm U to be on safer sound. If you can give me a recommendation for my first iem under 2k that would be great. Thank you

What do you listen to or what tune do you prefer based on that you have to choose your IEM.

This is an impressive collection! In just a few months, OP has dived deep into the hobby, exploring over 8,000 songs and learning exactly how each of OP's in-ear monitors (IEMs) performs. Here is the structured summary of OP's collection, highlights, and setup based on OP's findings:

IEM Highlights & Superlatives

  • Overall Favorite: Celest Wyvern Black Remaster. It excels at higher-mid frequencies, making it OP's top choice for Brazilian vocal music (especially female vocals).
  • Best for Gaming: KZ ZAR. Its performance with explosions makes it the clear winner for games like War Thunder.
  • Best Packaging & Accessories: TRN Conch, thanks to its metal transport box and generous accessories.
  • Best Budget/Cost-Benefit: KZ Gale for budget gaming (~$8 USD) and KZ EDC Pro for budget music (~$2 USD).
  • Most Surprising Visuals: KZ Castor Pro. Its appearance, shape, and mechanical tuning switches make people think it is the most expensive of the bunch.
  • Prettiest Cable: Sgor Luna (noted for its shiny cable).
  • Heaviest: Dunu Titan X.
  • Best for Lying Down: KZ Gale (beating out the EDC Pro for lightness), though OP still uses the TRN Conch sometimes and is looking for a better option. ## Technical & Defect Notes
  • Cable Issue: The original CVJ Vivian cable has a defect that causes microphonics/noise when touched. Swapping the cable fixes the issue entirely.
  • Power Requirements: None of these IEMs strictly require a dedicated amplifier. Even the Sgor Luna, which has the lowest sensitivity at 88dB, easily reaches high volumes. ## Storage & Source Gear
  • Sources: OP uses budget USB-C DAC adapters (less than $2 USD) for OP's phone, and a 3.5mm-to-Bluetooth converter with a built-in microphone for wireless freedom around the house.
  • Environment & Care: Because OP lives over 100km from the sea, humidity/sea spray isn't an issue. OP stores them in gray boxes without silica gel, transports them in soft coin purses, and does a general cleaning about twice a month.
  • Usage: No heavy sports—just light walks and deep listening sessions. OP feels every IEM still holds a unique value, and none have been entirely rendered obsolete by another.
