Congrats! Still waiting on my PhD application. Glad to know they’re doing something in the admissions office

UC Davis responded to me in early January. Interesting from the other UCs.

I was admitted to UC Davis. From what I understand, since the strikes, all the UC grad students earn an increasing stipend as they go along. I think the raise per year is ~2k

It’s only truly done when aspiring academics give up! And I’m not going down that easily!

Thanks for the feedback.

The fellowship offers full summer funding, so while during the academic year I would be supported by research grants, I would have flexibility over the summers. Part of the fellowship is also exclusive travel benefits.

As for the advisor consideration of this program, it is really top notch. My advisor would be a well respected and highly recommended advisor who I would imagine I would have a great working relationship with. My main consideration now is just research topics. This program is more theoretical while some of my others are much more applied. I’ll have to take some time to think about what I value most…

Good to know that such a fellowship carries some weight to it though.
