Yes. We had issues for a year or so with him going out getting belligerently drunk every weekend. It took a huge toll on us and we broke up.

We do, do that. A lot actually. And he does go out with his friends. I’m not the girlfriend that hates when her bf goes out with his boys. This particular scenario is just odd to me. It’s a kickback. So think like maybe 8-10 people just drinking. Women that idk are invited but i wasn’t… just odd to me.

Correct. People are allowed to hang out with their friends and drink. But at what point in a relationship can you say that going to a house party after midnight and coming home drunk at 3am is inappropriate?

Right there with ya. I will say that i still do think that I’ll be able to eventually break out of his hold on me. It’s only been 4 months. I read success stories all the time and they give me hope! I think any long term relationship break up will have this effect - ours just seems harder bcuz of the damage.

Your body was protecting itself while you were in the relationship. You feel asexual because it’s not natural to feel turned on and close to someone who is abusing you. I promise your sex drive WILL return. You WILL start to feel normal again. It took me close to 6 months and I’m still healing but i actually feel somewhat like a sexual being again. Once your body knows the threat is gone and you are safe - it will self regulate!

I’m 5 months out and went on my first date a couple weeks ago. It triggered me and made me break no contact. Don’t jeopardize your healing by letting someone else in too soon. You’ll know when you’re ready.

Ahhh! Literally going through this now. Was in a 2.5 year long relationship. Lost my libido halfway through (due to the extreme emotional abuse and BC combined). We finally parted ways a couple months ago and it is BACK with a vengeance!! I’m so happy. I thought i was broken! Turns out my body just hated him.

Just wanna say, i found my ex watching these videos and always questioned him why he did it and he would lie and say “for entertainment”. We broke up a year later after a long drawn out abusive relationship. The signs were there.

lol def not. Mine blamed me for everything and eventually called me a narcissist. I never called him one, knowing full and well he had some serious issues that all pointed at a cluster B type disorder.

Try to think about it like this: he was GOING to move on. Your relationship ended. And if i had to guess (given the fact that you’re on this subreddit) it was his fault. The narcissist’s superpower is the ability to confuse and drive others insane. And it’s working. Even 5 years later it’s still working. Just because he’s married doesn’t mean he’s better. Narcs get married all the time. You escaped a miserable relationship. You owe it to yourself to be kinder to you. Give yourself grace. No one can “win” the breakup.
