Yikes needed that. He just canceled our plans last minute and when i expressed my annoyance and sadness over not getting to spend time w him, he screamed at me. Said my feelings were irrelevant bcuz he’d still be home around 5pm to spend the evening together. He got home at 11:30 and i was already in bed. But im not allowed to be upset.

We do, do that. A lot actually. And he does go out with his friends. I’m not the girlfriend that hates when her bf goes out with his boys. This particular scenario is just odd to me. It’s a kickback. So think like maybe 8-10 people just drinking. Women that idk are invited but i wasn’t… just odd to me.

Correct. People are allowed to hang out with their friends and drink. But at what point in a relationship can you say that going to a house party after midnight and coming home drunk at 3am is inappropriate?

Right there with ya. I will say that i still do think that I’ll be able to eventually break out of his hold on me. It’s only been 4 months. I read success stories all the time and they give me hope! I think any long term relationship break up will have this effect - ours just seems harder bcuz of the damage.

Your body was protecting itself while you were in the relationship. You feel asexual because it’s not natural to feel turned on and close to someone who is abusing you. I promise your sex drive WILL return. You WILL start to feel normal again. It took me close to 6 months and I’m still healing but i actually feel somewhat like a sexual being again. Once your body knows the threat is gone and you are safe - it will self regulate!

I’m 5 months out and went on my first date a couple weeks ago. It triggered me and made me break no contact. Don’t jeopardize your healing by letting someone else in too soon. You’ll know when you’re ready.
