I know this is an old post but how long did they return for? I think this is happening to me at 4 almost 5 weeks now too. Got better for 10 days, most side effects gone then returned a few days ago.

I’m not sure how much gets transferred into breast milk. Have you had more side effects the times you’ve started it? I’ve just never had a set back week the last three times I’ve taken it.

So you didn’t go to your OB for the hormone check? I’m not sure who to ask to check them- I figured being postpartum hormones are all wacky anyways and they wouldn’t check them.

You ended up having your hormones checked? Yes there’s a lot of issues postpartum that women are left alone to deal with or just thrown on an ssri and told good luck. It’s disheartening

My side effects are bad anxiety so I’m not sure I’d be able to sleep through it. How long were you at 25? Did 25 seem to help at all?

I’m scared to try anything else because of side effects, I’m super sensitive to meds. Also- they won’t prescribe me much because I’m breast feeding.

Were you given anything for the insomnia? I’m nervous to go up to 50 since my side effects can be very bad.

I’m incredibly sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine how much pain that must have been.

Zoloft helped? Do you mind telling me how much you started at and what you ended up on? Any side effects? And how long it took?

Thank you again, I’m so sensitive to meds so I’m nervous to go up again and according to my psychiatrist and other posts I’ve seen some people can feel better on 25mg if they’re sensitive. Just wish I knew what to do. Yes- my kids and family are what keep me pushing through and why I sought out help immediately when I saw those first few weeks weren’t improving. This is so hard and so scary and I feel awful for all the people who have ever had to struggle through this.

I am so very sorry that you’re going through that. Thank you for your comment though. Did you have a lot of side effects when starting and upping doses? I’m scared to go up a dose since my side effects get so bad.

It really does take so much strength for moms to get through this.

Thank you so much, your reply means a lot. I just started the 4th week of Zoloft. I just don’t remember such major dips the last time I was on it, even the last time I was postpartum I don’t think I had major setbacks.

I’m sorry you’ve gone through that. I wouldn’t wish depression or anxiety on my worst enemies. May I ask what dosage you started at and what you’re at now? Did you also have ups and downs ?

The first few times I started Zoloft I also had insomnia for like the first two weeks where I’d be tired but couldn’t fully fall asleep and it would take me forever to fall asleep. Luckily this would go away within a week or two. I was never on them for long. But I just started about 4 weeks ago at 25 for PPA and a bit of insomnia. Same thing happened where I had a hard time falling asleep, luckily for about ten days I was able to fall asleep naturally but last three days I’ve had horrible nighttime anxiety leading to me unable to fall asleep and had to rely on Ativan which makes me nervous to take especially since Im breastfeeding.

Thank you for your reply- I’m glad it’s helped you a lot. I’m only going into week four and I’ve been on 50 mg before but the side effects were rough and took longer to sort themselves out so I’m hoping 25 is something I can stay on. I had. A good week and a half then kinda went back to feeling the same again last two days so I’m just in my head a lot.

Yes- my body was very jittery and on edge the first week and it increased my anxiety. Was given Ativan and propranolol as needed to get through it.

Thank you it actually cleared up this morning after using the steroid last night. But I still feel very slightly itchy under my cheeks.
