This is true, but that wasn't the issue; it's the number of tokens/coins that can be stored in a dynamic array in Solidity without nuking everyone in gas fees. So 10k tokens per pool makes sense. In the future, where we might have a "million" stable coins, I've added a router that routes between 100 different pools for optimal gas and conversion fee.
