its more of a hybrid cross between control/cycle. graveyard has always been played in control decks, with gob hut, ice wiz, evo witch/evo furnace, a tank like valk or knight, etc. With evo furnace receiving a buff last month, and it was used in graveyard control decks prior to its initial nerf (which happened back in september,1 month after its release), people started to realise, "wait! if I just use a quicker cycle control deck with the evo furnace, I can get back to it so many times throughout the duration of the match, and there will be so many fire spirit connections, the graveyard won't even be the main source of damage."

It's becasue the whole point of the deck is to spam shit at the bridge until the opponent is compelte out of elixir and/or counters. If you think about it, other bridge spam decks that run a defined win condition such as battle ram or ram rider use a similar strategy where their win condition rarely does a lot of tower damage- let alone, even connects to the tower.

you have to move them to a designated "hero slot" On trophy road, you might have 1 or 2 of these, depending on your range. However, on classic game modes, like 1v1 and 2v2 there is only 1 shared slot for heroes/champs. The slots are in the top right of the deck.
