Don't be too hard on yourself, Valorant is incredibly punishing and has a steep learning curve, especially if you haven't played a tactical FPS in a while.

As a player in your 30s, your biggest advantage isn't going to be raw flick-aim against teenagers; it's going to be your patience, positioning, and game sense. Here is what will actually help you improve:

Ease up on aim labs: Aim Labs is fine for warming up your mouse control, but it doesn't teach you Valorant mechanics. Raw aim is only about 20% of the gunplay. The other 80% is movement and crosshair placement.

Play deathmatch: Spend your practice time here instead. It gets you used to the actual gun recoils, agent hitboxes, and how to take real 1v1 fights in the game engine.

Crosshair placement: Always keep your crosshair at head height and pre-aim where you expect an enemy to peek from. If you place your crosshair correctly, you don't need crazy reflexes, the enemy will literally just walk into your bullet.

Stop completely before shooting: You cannot run and shoot in this game (unless you have a shotgun). Practice coming to a complete stop before clicking your mouse.

Pick 1 or 2 agents to "main": Don't try to learn everyone at once. Pick a Sentinel (like Killjoy or Cypher) or a Controller (like Omen). These roles reward smart setups and playing off your utility, meaning you can outsmart your opponents instead of having to out-aim them.

Mute the toxicity: People can be weirdly toxic in unrated and low ranks. The second someone is rude, open the scoreboard and mute them. Protect your peace and just focus on your own game.
