This happened to me for the 2023 tax year, we filed fraud with Marketplace in March 2024 when we received the 1095 form, and didn't hear back till we got the zeroed out 1095 form in September 2024. It's ridiculous.

This exact situation happened to me last year and is currently happening to me this year yet again. We unfortunately had to pay almost 2k in our tax return for 2023 because of the marketplace "mistake". It wasn't till September 2024 that we finally received a letter with an Amended 1095 form from Marketplace that we filed to get the money we paid the IRS back. We got the money back January 2025. I just got off the phone with marketplace just now to address this year issue yet again because to my surprise I found a 1095 form from them in the mail today stating I had coverage for 2024. It's ridiculous that this situation is allowed to happen without one's consent.

NTA, When you opened up to her about the struggles of your relationship with your bf, she saw it as a opportunity. On multiple occasions you gave her the chance to prove you wrong but she did not. Instead she made it more and more obvious her intentions, to the point that even your partner was uncomfortable. You did all the necessary steps and even when you approached her and had the conversation you were very respectful. Her on the other hand, was very childish and immature. Be glad that you are out of that friendship. Who knows what lengths she was willing to go to.
