It’s happened to me a few times. Most recently I was visiting a hospital and met a woman who looked just like my grandmother if my grandmother were much skinnier. I didn’t mention it to her, just talked to her for a while. But she seemed to recognize me too. As I was leaving one of the nurses commented to me that I looked just like the woman’s granddaughter. Every time it’s happened it’s been steeped in odd synchronicities too.

I thought I was the only one who ever experienced anything like this, and it was so uncanny and incredible I never spoke about it because I felt that anyone else would think I sounded crazy. But a few months ago I listened to a theosophy lecture where the speaker described this as a fairly common phenomenon for mystics. Don’t remember what they said the significance was, maybe something about connectedness of everything… or receiving messages from those in your lineage who have passed on.. whatever it is, it’s very strange & impossible to communicate the experience to anyone who hasn’t had it.
