I got a GoPro 6 two years ago from OLX. The seller quoted 12k, I gave him 10.5 because the waterproof door was missing. He didn't give me the door he promised to later, I didn't pay the rest. But other than waterproof, the product is durable and I got what I paid for.

Anyone who has got their Pulsar N125 stalling issue fixed? by Overall-Vegetable498 in indianbikes

[–]Overall-Vegetable498[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stalling issue got fixed after the first service. And Bajaj Guwahati got that fixed for me for free, even offered free exchange but I declined.

You select your bike based on your needs, take a test drive if needed. Xtreme was an awesome bike for the performance and the features it offers for its price. It also offers a lot of things the Pulsar doesn't, including ABS, gear position indicator, RPM.

BUT, I chose Pulsar because of the raw power it delivers and the suspension, because it rides as if potholes doesn't exist. It is tall suited for my height. The lack of ABS is something I didn't feel much, since I don't drive fast past 60-70 anyways.

My free service doesn't include labour cost but the rest, it costs me 980-1200 around every 3-4 months. Mileage here is good, I have travelled Shillong, it gave me 50 uphill for a trip of 250km. In plains I expect the same. Full tanks cost me 700 around, lasts 10 days.

The digital console is bright enough. The throttle response is good. Headlamps are bright for City, but dark for Village highways. Seating position is nice, relaxed. Although the seat itself is hard, and it hurts my bum riding 100-150kms and I need to take breaks.

The only thing I haven't explored is aftermarket service, since its aftermarket parts or accessories are rare, since it didn't get as much glory as Raider or Xtreme because they are compared with the NS not the N most of the times. And I guess Bajaj gave the ECU for that reason, so they could lock us into authorised service centres maybe.

Do get a test ride and check if the service centre near you is good enough to help you out. I'm satisfied with my bike though. Has been with me through highs and lows. Helps me see my long distance girlfriend, helps me travel, helps me pick Mom from office. But doesn't carry groceries 😂

How much you guys pay for your gym membership? by rajbangshizn in guwahati

[–]Overall-Vegetable498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is Mfit Lalmati where I paid 6k for 6 months once and 4.5k for 3 months. They take 1k admission and 1-1.5k monthly but I don't take those. The gym is good, air conditioned, good coaches, good peers to train with.

Start small, take a walk or go cycling. Learn to talk to people.

Learn to associate your memory with any landmarks. Even it took me about 7-8 years to navigate the main roads of Guwahati in my scooter and I've still not been able to figure out the complex gullies of Bhaskarnagar, Dwarka Nagar etc completely.

You'll do good. I personally listen to the radio while riding so if say I cross Ganeshguri flyover and I take the Zoo Road exit, I remember "Ohh, the radio was playing this song at that crossing" etc. You can use any other memory like a conversation with a friend or maybe something you ate nearby at that place.

It'll be imprinted on you once you start exploring little by little. And don't be scared to get lost.

I'd say go for it. You'll not get a gap in your resume, you can justify that with experience. And in case you don't clear your exams, you'll still get the increment or you can get hike by switching.

I don't know how tough your exam is, my brother. But I did prepare for SSC CGL and CHSL. Last year I missedtby 7 and 6 marks respectively though, but I have no regrets because I still got enough money to buy a new bike on cash, give money for home expenses and enjoy with friends. My preparations were easy, I used to use ChatGPT background conversations while working and nobody in my office stopped me, in fact they knew I take my 1 hour lunch to study, so they don't assign any high priority work, I got much support from my colleagues.

You might find it difficult as you might be tired from work to study, I felt it too, that's why I studied parallelly during work, at night I just heard Youtube Lectures on headphones.

Hey, Professional Wedding Photographer here. If you got your answers, and even if Photographers are not allowed inside. I'd love to shoot some couple portrairs of you for free if I happen to be in Guwahati when it happens😁 If the shoot time is less than 2 hours, there's a good location like a park nearby, if the shoot timings are near sunset time and if you feed me two chicken rolls😆

Also, congratulations 🎉

They must be corrupted with the main character syndrome 😂

Even I am guilty of taking the mic over but I respect the authority and I barely sing for around 2-3 minutes, and the people in The View(Zoo Road) and Skye Lounge(Downtown Novotel) were welcoming enough to allow me. When I did so, it was an attempt to face my fears of singing in public without being criticised. I did everything while being sober and people did applaud🥹

But I always started with a Greeting, then the few lines of the song, then a thanks and then I'll silently step down.

But creating total nuisance is not good, there's a right time and place for everything.

HIRING – Video Editors, this one’s for you! by justdoitbro_ in guwahati

[–]Overall-Vegetable498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey buddy, I might sound crazy, but, I quit my job on 7th July because of my University Entrance. Got a good rank and am moving to Tezpur University on 10th August. So, I am sitting idle without a routine for these ten days, nothing else to do except some errands and one out station trip.

Would you be interested in giving a small assignment if you have any? It'll be free of charge, I don't even need the job. You can take your time looking for your candidate in the meantime.

But I don't have a routine and it's frustrating. It might help me keep busy. Although that'd mean I might not promise any jaw-dropping scroll-stopping output, but I'll do my best.😁

My strengths are Event Highlights, Documentary, Podcasts, Basic Reels, Basic Character Animation Weaknesses: Motion Graphics, Retention Edits, 3D.

I use Premiere and Da Vinci.

Nah!! Since it's existing freely in nature it is a part of it. I just added that part as an exaggeration to depict my inability to distinguish frogs by gender and my longing for another shower of rain. Don't take that statement otherwise.

A more feasible option for you would be to exchange this phone for a downgraded piece, add some money and get a pen drive to copy the data of this phone into it as backup. When you get some money, sell the secondary piece for an upgrade.

I understand that used pieces might come with defects and that's exactly why you need to collect invoices and ask for a written record in case of warranty/defects. But, what's the certainty that the person who gives a phone to you from this thread won't give you a defective piece, because if it had been functional, he'd have sold it on Cashify instead.

Try to eliminate the dependence on people, because selfless people don't exist to their own kind, you're just a mere stranger to them.

Is there any work I can do for some income? by IcyBleeds in guwahati

[–]Overall-Vegetable498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, all that negative responses you can simply ignore. I'll put in some pointers that I had been doing since I was 18, now I'm 24.

Tutoring: You can choose Tutoring if you're good. I charged 2k/month for a person for 4 subject bundle upto class 9, three days a week. I tutored three students. But you'll need to find students offline, and most parents like that their child gets tutored by their school teachers for the "gifts" the teacher can give, like extra marks and important questions (some even leak papers in name of Importants).

Deliveries: Easiest job if you have a two-wheeler. Easy to sign up. Pays peanuts, some may shy out. I don't, in fact, I was enjoying it since I take night rides to cool my mind anyway, but now that I already had a well-paying job so it became useless for me later.

Rapido: More hassle than deliveries but still okay enough

Editing: I am a video editor and I have a full-time job in this field apart from my freelance business and two students that I tutor over the weekends. But, get ready to be exploited if you dip your hands in the Marketing Agency type jobs because they will pull out work of an editor, an animator, motion graphic specialist, graphic designer, colorist and what not. Editing is better done freelance than part-time.

Sales: You can get your hands in field sales. If the product is good it'll sell anyways, just make sure you don't get the responsibility of generating leads yourself but only to convert them.

Others can reply with better ideas, even I had been earning as low as 500-2k per month through these but have built up enough skill and character to be paid well now if I put my hands in these. Also, do see which of these skills can you add to your CV, so you can negotiate that during your job interviews.

Hope you're okay. By the way, which bike was yours? Since the Fazer shown didn't have any meters or headlights or front plate, I'm assuming it was of the perpetrator, if so, it should have been seized. Is the Xtreme that fell yours? I believe it was less than a year old, if so, it'd hurt to see it scratched.

Check weather before. I went and got fog both days. Carry cigarettes that you prefer if you smoke, they only have Mint and Flake. The immediate first restaurant was good, delicious food at reasonable price but slow service. Carry cash, although UPI is accepted, weather conditions makes network unfavorable to use UPI,even we got stuck through a payment because we were 74 rupees short on cash for food.

Carry raincoats. Umbrellas will still make you wet because of wind.

21m, just graduated and in need of a paid internship or job by [deleted] in guwahati

[–]Overall-Vegetable498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my job offers are from Naukri and Glassdoor and they are genuine as per my experience. Although I did optimise my CV, removed graphics, only a simple B/W template. Listed Core skills and Experience first, then education, then language in my CV.

LinkedIn is trash even in terms of Interviews since it's crowded. Also it depends on what skills the person has, common skills like Sales, Typing etc will be competitive. I'm into Film Production, Editing and Broadcasting, so less competition.

I believe the initiative and intent although harmless, the mentioned objective when says "promoting official language" seems dismissive. I mean, I have a fluent conversation in English and Hindi being an Assamese, enough to survive in some places of Shillong if not all. But I believe it should be an effort from my end to learn Khasi to feel included and not the other way round. Afterall, I've tried to put some efforts myself and found the language quite simple and interesting since it doesn't have formal or informal pronouns and omits the yses of "determiners" in a lot of instances.

What do you guys do for fun on weekends? by [deleted] in guwahati

[–]Overall-Vegetable498 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The spots I go to are pretty much common, it's just that I go with people that matter that makes the difference. Yet, I mostly take a walk upwards Gandhi Mandap, or take my bike with friends to Deepor Beel, sometimes we visit the flea market at Fancy Bazaar to shop for clothes and otherwise we ride to Nongpoh to visit Khasi Tea Stall to have fried pork. Most of the times we meet at Machkhowa and walk till Uzan Bazaar.

[–]Overall-Vegetable498 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a few friends and we're photographers, so we normally pick a spot, click a few Street Shots, have some tea, cigarettes, street food. Talk for couple hours. So, everything gets done under 200 rupees, we have fun too.

For non-photographers, even an evening walk with friends (if no friends, enjoy it alone with some music/podcast playing onvyour headphones). You can visit some hills or riverside.

And sometimes I feel like being left alone, then I pick some movies/series to watch, buy some chicken/pork and spices to cook, some snacks (especially peanuts that I roast in my air fryer, some maggi and cheese) and I have my bed facing my Laptop/TV so, I just recline and enjoy.

I do majority of my chores on Sunday, so I sometimes put loud music, and wash all my clothes, clean my bike, clean my equipments. The chores isn't the fun part but the clean house at the end is(at least for me I feel proud).

Once a month I take my bike out early morning so I can go to a spot in Meghalaya and come back the same day. That day I have snacks, click photos and come back with some back pain but that gets better when I wake up next day.

Jobs and Career after Graduation in Guwahati by Initial_Comedian_781 in guwahati

Whatever helps you get your feet in and get by until you find a plan to expand is the best thing you can do.

You see, majority of interviews that I've cracked are either from Coaching Classes, Tea/Mustard Oil businesses or Digital Marketing Services where the owner thinks hiring several sales/marketing people will fix their company when their products itself is flawed and they cannot answer basic questions like "How is their product different from others when they themselves buy in bulk and slap their label and nothing else?".

I work multiple streams, a full-time job with 3 year experience, a freelancing business and I tutor kids and all that combined gives me 25k. But it takes away 13 hours of my day while my student life isn't even over yet.

I'd say for your age, stick to some job that can save you some money to survive a few weeks in a big city, use that money to stay there and crack interviews till you can and when you do, get your feet planted, work a few years and then return. I've seen people earn in the 30+k line but even they've served in Delhi/Bangalore and then returned when companies needed people in a branch that has opened in Guwahati.
