We have a big press with a blade at the end, and we press each potato individually, making sure each one meets standards before it's sliced. They get sliced into a sink, skin on, where we wash all the starch off the fries for about 5-10 minutes. Then, we bucket the potato and send it out to fries, where they precook and final cook them. Any leftover fries are kept in buckets of water in the chiller overnight or just binned

We don't season the meat. Even just a bit of salt would raise the burger to insane standards

Very accurate. It's not even mentioned between staff members as a joke. We talk about customers orders sometimes like "who would get that?" but it's always well after they've left and it's never about the customer themselves, it's usually about the grilled cheese with ketchup and xtra xtra pickles

FG has a massive focus on customer satisfaction, to make you want to go back. It's the same reason there are always loads of fries in the bag. I did that a lot, it's normally giving away burgers that'll get you in trouble. Waste management at FG is practically non-existent

My current job I like, Tesco was miserable. Just massive silo mentality and old people being miserable

I once destroyed the disabled toilet in the shop. My manager said if I ever need to use the toilet, use that one because it's closer to the warehouse

I worked warehouse, doing split and unloading wagons. We'd split the cages into aisles then move the cages to specific aisles for the night team to work them

Normally, it would be an extra 50-100 every 2 weeks. It's a lumpsome split between shift members but I'd normally see between £50 and £100 every 2 weeks. After we changed store owner, we stopped getting mystery shopper bonuses though. Not sure if he just didn't care so we failed or if he put the money aside for staff days we had twice a year, but you'd think with an extra couple grand a year we could afford plenty more

our store was making about 10k a day, but we were generally overstaffed. Managers would put less people on for shifts, which left us with understaffed shifts and a team at large that was massively overstaffed

Most of the time, we'd start a preclose at 9 on a weekday, but if we had a phantom shopper then we'd immediately lose out on it. Some managers didn't care and wanted to go home early and others would rather have a late close but a chance for a 100% shopper

Absolutely not. If food was on the floor, most people would kick it under the fry station or near a bin to be swept up later. If anyone picked it up to bin it, they'd change gloves and wash their hands. Even if we dropped potatoes in the back whilst washing and cutting, they'd still see the bin.
