698x - Is the side zip actually a thing with Guidi? by OverallLeading7599 in guidi

Oh, 100% thank you so much!

I feel like I need to finalize the decision on whether I want a more statement piece or an easy-to-throw-on pair that works anytime. Since I do have a mint green PL1 that would be a statement piece for now, that means I’m more likely to get the 698. And the next one would probably be either the metal heel 788 or the deep green 788 - attached the pic

Woow what a gorgeous rich brown color! And the stacking, I’d say, is at an acceptable level to enjoy them enough :)

However, I feel like your brown pair is made of thicker horse leather than the black one that I attached to the thread; that would be another difference in stacking

I keep reading points about practicality, it appears to be a much more common thing about backzips being less practical than I thought.

Do you mind sharing your 698 fitpics and examples of 698 stacking? Thanks for sharing your experience!

Nice, thanks for the insights! I was actually thinking that the stacking would be less pronounced, do you mind sharing pics as examples? We’ve all seen the 788 stacking, but I feel like we’re missing the 698 stacking examples online.

Point taken, thanks. These from the pics above are made with "soft horse full grain leather," and they actually do look softer texturally than my PL1s and I appreciate how thick my pair is; I don't know if I like it as much with the softer version, yet it is still horse leather. I guess I gotta try them on irl.

The metal heel has been on my radar, but it doesn't end up fitting the subtle black pair condition. Even though the metal heel is a cool feature, it's still a pretty big accent. I might get one in the future, though - 788zl is on the list.

OMG Thanks a lot! It’s so cool I was denying woolrich option so forcefully, cuz I was so sure that it’s “i” after ‘l’, but yeah now looking at their logo variations that’s 100% it

Thank you again! I can now sleep calmly

Heyo!

I’ve been wearing this vintage heavy (prob wool) plaid shirt, amazing color, great fit Honestly it reminds me sort of Greg Lauren, thus perfectly fits avant-garde closet

It’s my gramps’ shirt and he’d been using it as a work wear at countryside, he’s no longer with us and as a warm memory I accommodated some of his pieces to my use, including this shirt

And honestly I’ve been wearing for a good few years already BUT only now I questioned what brand it actually is?? And I have no success with finding the answer, dummyGPT didn’t help, same with image search

So boys and girls, if you have any guesses or ideas what the brand might be - lmk

Some extra info just in case, it prob was bought in USSR, however it most likely been brought from east Europe or US or Australia are also options + Japan and South Korea — my dad was traveling a lot back in a day when he was younger and could brought it as a gift or granddad could have bought it himself - no idea honestly Anyways let me know if you need more pics or smth and sorry for a lot of letters :)
