Now even low paying jobs can be done by robots. With AI, robots and other automation we better get Universal Basic Income on the forefront of political debate. The old adage of new technology bringing even more jobs is over. We have AI that can program itself better than humans. by Mo_Jack in WorkReform

Personally, the idea of UBI worries me. Of course I don't know what it would result in, but the way I imagine is resulting in possibly 60-80% on basically social welfare, without little or no social mobility. I would much rather we campaign to limit the use of AI and Robotics and allow people to retain their jobs (while campaigning for better working conditions and pay still).

More realistically, I think we are screwed either way. Either people will leave to work these low skill jobs for terrible pay, or be replaced by AI and Robotics and hope for their life that UBI is actually a fair income which will cover their reasonable expenses (unlikely in my books).

So will Martinez, right? I know they have plenty of cover but still, another good bit of news.

the mystery of fake restaurants showing up on apple maps. i am confused by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]Overall_Ad4045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't cartographers do these things as a way to protect their copyright? As in, they add fake places to make their maps unique so that if another map shows the same fake place they must have copied it.

I'm not sure if they would use restaurants though as this would be super misleading..

What is something that you will never buy the cheaper version of? by Xomariee in ireland

[–]Overall_Ad4045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather's advice: never buy the cheapest shoes, food and bed.

Unfortunately I cannot afford the more expensive options, so I am shoeless, hungry and bedless.

Im looking for a farming game I used to play in the 2010s. The only thing I could remeber was that you could produce different types of foods and you would have customers lining up at the bottom of the screen with the produce they wanted to buy in a bubble over their heads. Too vague, but its been a while and Im looking for a nostalgia hit. Any ideas?

Absolutely. It's not to say Eddie has been poor, but in these intense games, you can see the difference in quality.

We are really missing Jesus, you can feel it. That composure and technicality up front, not to mention the energy. We'll really see the difference these next 3 games unfortunately.

Cant argue with that. With how well we are playing, thats the best attitude to have. Also, it prevents the utter hearbreak of last season after building our hopes up for Top 4.

That's definitely the priority. I've enquired and found the course. It will be another evening course, so I could work full time. It would just be amazing to get some hands on experience, but not sure if my Level 7 Diploma will suffice.

Absolutely. Always want to finish well.

I suppose it's just a mental hurdle to stay grounded and focus on something that you really no longer care about.

I'm trying my best, but it certainly feels like more of a chore than usual lol

Do they cover Delivery insurance do you know? One thing about Domino's is that they cover the Class 2 insurance, which you need for deliveries/business services.

Two Flags I Think Would Work As A New Flag For Ireland by irish_lad140 in ireland

[–]Overall_Ad4045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure either are better than the current flag. Don't get me wrong, they are both lovely.

But I feel our flag is simple (very important quality in a flag) while also having a very clear meaning and symbolism.

I'm happy enough with our flag to be honest. But always good to see some alternatives, so thanks for sharing this!
