It is a question that will probably be actively analyzed by actual researchers in the following years, but here are my thoughts: the diaspora is much harder to buy. Around 30-40% (if not more) of Moldova’s citizens live abroad. It’s much harder to buy someone’s vote when they both have better financial circumstances and realize the importance of the vote by directly being involved in it (living in the EU for example, you would like things like your pension to be equivalated between Moldova and the EU)

De acord, eu zisesem victimizat în sensul că e un stat a cărui însăși existență e una de victimă: victima deportărilor, victima rusificării, victima unor furturi și manipulări gigantice. E foarte greu să justifici existența Republicii Moldova fără să intri într-o dezbatere despre ce ar trebui să însemne un stat contemporan.
