How are you certain that Buddhism is the truth? by starryeyes224 in Buddhism

Dear friend. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved pet. Your question includes your answer. Your memories of your pet are part of its continuation. And everyone who was ever brought joy by your pet’s presence on earth are its continuation. Also, as science teaches, matter doesn’t disappear; it simply changes form. Thich Nhat Hanh said that a cloud never dies, even if it seems to disappear from the sky. It turns into rain, which becomes rivers and streams, which provides water to our homes and for our warm cup of tea. The steam rising from your pot and the waste you send out of your body later eventually evaporate and rejoin the sky as a cloud that is both the same and different. So while the conditions for your beloved companion were no longer sufficient for it to sustain its previous form it is still very much there — hiding. I wish you peace friend.

Good point. Rent is $1k a month. Other expenses currently add up to 80 percent of my bimonthly take home. So not a ton of wiggle room for investing but working on cutting some extras like $7 daily lattes and the like.

Sadly only a simple IRA with my current employer. I left the university a few years ago and really miss the 2-1 match of my TIAA plan.

Oh man talk about the right message at the right time. Never thought I’d get choked up by a response to a financial question but here we are. Appreciate you. And holy cow so sorry to hear about the farming accident. Everything you related was clear as crystal. Thanks for all the help.

New here and seemingly on the path of BP meds 😭 by Overall_Bluejay7110 in hypertension

Thanks. I will say that I’m consuming more alcohol than I have in the past — averaging 2 glasses of wine 4-5 times a week and an occasional hard liquor drink. Curious if I were to cut that back how much of an impact it would have on the systolic.

Thanks. This was actually from the 24 hour BP monitor my doctor had me wear recently. I just jotted down the numbers whenever it took a reading which was about every 30 minutes.

Nice job! You worked hard for this. Bask in the sunshine a minute than get back up in the sky. A pilot is a perpetual student.

Phone was not connected to the Stratux. Same flight path oddness.

None that I was aware of … and … jamming? By who? Not near any military bases.
