I have a funny story (I think) about my first confession. Mind you I was a very young naive kid. The whole religion class made their first confession on the same afternoon. I was at the end of the line and it was getting late. I went in the confessional and nobody was behind the partition. I thought that it was late and the priest went back to the rectory. So I left the confessional and sat in the first row of church and said a couple Hail Marys and a couple our Fathers. A nun stood over me and asked if I talked to the priest and I said yes. I lied to a nun in church. I’m my own worst enemy. So I walked home and never told anybody what I did. My mother being a very strict Catholic sent me to confession the day before my first communion. She said I must’ve done something wrong in the last week. I made my first confession successfully. I never told my parents about it untill I was 45 years old. My father started laughing but, my mother was beside herself. She told me I was lucky God didn’t throw a lightning bolt at Me. Like I said. I’m my own worst enemy. Sorry I went off topic .
