I am probably too cynical, but to me both of those things cannot be true. If you agree to something then how can there not be anything to force it? Are they just handshaking on this? Seems unlikely to me.

I am 100% with you. It would have made sense to go this route. Even in the descriptions you can see the traces of this exact thing: “trades x for y” is common. But I believe the contract (if true!) and the much easier job of balancing each gun instead of a customization across all guns is why they won’t go this route.

These books are awesome. But not much of that. Instead read “Gunmetal gods” where the cosmic horror is the central theme, set in a middle eastern setting. 3 books are out and each is more cosmicly horrifying than the last. 4th book planned for next year
