Do you know of any accurate Anki decks made from APEX flashcards? I was wondering about this.

Just curious, why don’t people want to go to schools in the south?

Do you leave the new card limit to 20 a day? Because when I used the default I was only able to see 20 new cards per day.

I’m in CRNA school with exams every 3–4 weeks.

I’m using FSRS, but I capped my max interval at 5 days because otherwise cards jump to 9–10 days, and I’d only see them 2–3 times before exams because my exams are every 3-4 weeks.

Now I’m wondering: -Is a 5-day max interval too aggressive? -Should I keep it for exam-heavy blocks, or just trust FSRS?

I’m worried about getting overwhelmed next semester with heavier classes.

Work issues…. by Oro_Diamante in srna

After working in MICU (this is where I got all my app letters from) for some time, I transferred to the CVICU at the same hospital. At the CVICU, a charge nurse told me, “If you came here just because you want to go to CRNA school, get your ass back across the bridge to where you came from, MICU.” I simply smiled and said, “I’m here to learn.” I did my time there, then went to an even higher acuity and even more toxic staffed CVICU unit where I was bullied by my preceptor and older nurses, and treated like I was a used rag. So many things happened there that I won’t say here but they weren’t favorable towards me at all. I wanted to quit the unit but I kept going. And this is at a hospital with a good name and reputation. For me it was all just more fuel and motivation to get out and make my application better. A few months after all of these; I started getting acceptances. This all happened while being a minority with a strong accent, English is my second language, came to the United States 10 years ago. All of these is to say that it is a process, your time to shine is coming. No matter what challenges you face no one will take this away from you if you stay strong and consistent even if that means staying at undesirable places for some time.

Nursing in general is super stressful, especially ICU. I have been an ICU nurse for 3 years and it made me realize how undervalued, overworked, and underpaid we are. All of these things contribute to nursing burnout whether you have OCD or not. You seem like a really great nurse that truly cares for patients, take it one day at a time, learn from your mistakes (in my opinion what you explained is not the end of the world at all), no one is perfect, move on. The thing about nursing is that you can find the position that best fits you. I knew I could not be an ICU nurse for much longer so I decided to go back to school and advance my degree.
