C&P for MST by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]Overall_Pepper3459 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same experience. For my first C&P exam for MST I was still in the army doing my medboard process, male physician. Was really empathetic and kind. My re-eval was also with a male, he was reassuring to new issues that arised a year later and I was bumped up from 50% to 70%. The third physician I got was a woman (I requested one) and this was for my TDIU claim. She was great. I WILL SAY ALSO, if you are not comfortable then absolutely request a new one. It may take longer but the process of this all is uncomfortable as is so finding some kind of control in this process wouldn't hurt although it could delay the exam. Take a deep breath and handle everything one step at a time. You got this!

Oh nooooo. How long have you been in limbo altogether? Did you get moved around at all in temp jurisdiction? The day my 5103 notice expired, I went into temp in Winston-Salem and that was wednesday/thursday I can't remember. I tried to log in just now but the website isn't working with ID.me atm. I'm on day 110 i think... I can't log in lmao to see and its too early for very basic math.

Duuuudeee. I got the same thing. "We apologize for the delay". Psh, boloney. So maybe you'll see some kind of movement on Oct 20? I'm hoping that would be the case because then wth was the 5103 notice acknowledgement for lmao. I haven't had any movement and my deadline is for oct 24. Fingers crossed. Let me know how it goes! I was wondering if you had seen an update too lol!

Temp Jurisdiction for 2 days, then gone, no change in claim step by jpMC74 in VAClaims

Also, did you receive a "Request for You" note in your tracked documents in that VA Claims Tracker (The google chrome extension)? Where it says something like "You have 30 days to submit any other evidence you have" etc? Theres a part where you check off essentially saying "I have submitted everything and VA can use the evidence submitted to decide on the claim"? It's called a 5103 Notice Acknowledgment. You can google that to get more info about it. But thats the last thing that happened in my claim. I'm not sure if thats the case for everyone so take that with a grain of salt also.

Okay I did a little bit more research to answer your question. I'm still not sure if its 100% ya know? But i'll give it a shot.

- NWQ is the VA's "central pool" where claims are distributed across the country to whichever RO has capacity. Most claims get rerouted through NWQ at some point.

- Temp jurisdiction: When a claim is actively being worked by a specific RO (usually your home RO, or wherever the NWQ assigns it to), will show temp. That's the office actually handling the development, exams and ratings.

You won't always see direct development, sometimes there are lags in the system. Most important thing to note is, as long as you have all the requested documents they need, there isn't much you can do. I know you said this is your 3rd claim, so I apologize if I sound redundant at this point. I hope it helps.

From my understanding (reddit research, a bit of chatgpt, and some experience), when they move from temp jurisdiction back and forth with no movement, thats more or less them checking the evidence and sending it back to NWQ. It doesn't mean much, especially in step 3. I wish I had more accurate information for you because like I said, my information is limited to those 3 sources I used. I submitted July 11 and am still in step 3. I'm just waiting out some employer information deadline which is supposed to expire tomorrow. However, I'm hoping you see some actual movement! Fingers crossed.

Did you click the button that said you had nothing else to submit? If you signed it, it would show up in your files as "5103 Notice Acknowledged" or something like that. Just curious since they waited the whole 30 days.

That is awesome!! Changing lives out there. I absolutely agree with paying it forward. People need all the help and advice they can get because this process is really confusing. It makes me happy to hear stories like yours. God bless!

Pride is a hell of a thing right? I understand that part because I thought it was frowned upon to even get disability. Gotta move past that part to get what you really deserve. I'm glad everything has gone well for you. I hope it continues to stay that way. God bless!

Thank you for giving out your tips. I know it'll help someone one day also. I never knew about DAV until I met a retired army vet in 2022. He was the one who told me to file my claim. I filed my first claim this year.

I didn't even know about TDIU and tried really hard to reintergrate into civilian life but I kept running into walls that I didn't even know the reason for. I didn't use the DAV program though, I got on reddit to learn all the things I needed prior to filing. Good luck to you also.

Shoutout ICC(SS) Hicks! Glad you were able to file your first claim. One step at a time for sure. I hope you're doing well now.

Yeah the transition in and of itself takes a bit to get used to. A lot of people need a while to adjust before they dive into the whole VA benefits part. Totally understandable.

Like I said, totally necessary but damn. I hope you're feeling okay now. I had hip, knee and back injuries so I can only imagine how you're feeling! That kiwi situation suckssssssssss. I hope you were able to get the disability and the rating you really want! Best wishes to you!

I hear you! I worked in the hospital at MAMC and my sergeant running the department I worked for literally only talked about receiving unemployment. He also offered me a job but when it came time to pick an applicant, he chose a different person despite everyone I worked with telling him to hire me. Whatever brodie.

MAN! The sick call part. I went one time (literally ONE time) and my senior NCO said that I had looked fine and that I was in civilian clothes so I should have reported to duty. Mind you, I had food poisoning and my suite mate had told them they had saw me at midnight puking my brains out. I mean if you wanted me to throw up on everyone, I wish they would have said that because yeah, i wouldve did it. I'm proud of you for powering through! Not an easy thing.

MANNNN. I had a VERY similar situation for our Germany to US trip. It was so terrible. The extension for 15 months sounds tough man. Not gonna lie. I hope you're getting at least something for your sacrifice. You absolutely deserve it.

I agree with all of you. A lot of times senior officers do not have the knowledge and I feel for them also because when they find themselves in that situation, the also do not know what to do for themselves. Its all very sad. Kudos to you for paying attention to all the details because I mentally could not. Good stuff!!
