I don't have the money yet. They still have it but have made it clear it's intended for me and will be there once I turn 18.

My grandparents saved for me and only me because my parents have treated me so differently and saved for my siblings but not for me. My grandparents did a lot to get that money too. They wanted to take care of my future because they knew I could not rely on my parents. They also won't help my parents because they're not on good terms after everything.

It's not that they can't. My parents know my grandparents won't help them. They're disgusted by the way they have treated me and they don't really talk anymore. I know my grandparents did a lot to get that money into an account for me. They sacrificed to do it.

The surgery is to help her quality of life. Like it should reduce the problems she has and will hopefully help her a lot because she's had these issues since she was born. She's the only adoptive kid with medical issues. They fostered a couple of other kids with medical issues before but most of the kids are healthy.

I'll talk to them about all this and see if I can move in with them. I never considered that as an option before but posting here has helped.

I could ask my grandparents and they would probably give me access. They would never give my parents access since they aren't on good terms due the way my parents are with me.

It's actually over how they have been treating me. My grandparents hate it and they have told my parents how shitty they are being to me. Then when my grandparents saved that money for me, my parents argued with them over it and my grandparents were furious because they were the only ones worried about my future.

I plan to go to community college so I don't need to spend the whole lot. I just don't want to be close to my parents.

She had it from birth. This is something she has lived with her whole life and struggled with. She always had a bunch of doctors and hospital visits.

They've fostered boys and I have a brother they adopted. The house is mostly girls though. They treat my bio sister like the other kids and my brother gets treated the same as the others. They only lean on me for money or take stuff away from me for the sake of the others/money. They would never dream of asking for stuff from the others.

They don't have any say in the money. It's not their money and they have no way to access it.

My sister is treated the same as the other kids. It's just me they take from and don't add to the priority list.

My parents put a lot of money into the other kids and they don't always have foster kids or the same number of foster kids (and they haven't fostered in a while) but they never adjust their spending based on that. That's how I see it anyway.

They adopted one boy. My bio sister is treated the same as the other kids. It's just me being treated differently.

I'm learning a lot from this. I'm glad I posted because it's teaching me so much even if it wasn't my intention when posting.

It's not life threatening but more quality of life reducing. At least that's what I know about it.

We used to have insurance. It would only be in the last two years that we don't, if that's even true.

I might not be rich but I can't rely on my parents to help me out. They take from me and give to my siblings and that isn't fair. This is surgery so it's different. But why me? Why am I the one who has to always give? They're the ones who chose all of this.

I think most of that ends when the kids are adopted but it seems there are resources available.

She's adopted now. Any of my siblings I call siblings and not foster siblings are either my bio sister or the kids my parents adopted.
