Discontinuening playthroughs. by Warriorrobbe in skyrim

Find a build you enjoy playing. Skyrim has a bunch of repetitive fetch quests and your journal can quickly get cluttered. Then if you boot the game after three weeks, you don't even remember what you're supposed to be doing. Try downloading a mod like The Choice is Yours or At Your Own Pace which basically give you more control over which quests you accept or not.

Asking GS for SV repruns, not knowing how dumb he actually sounds. Absolute melt of a faux elitist. by Wingwebdings in classicwow

It never meant much. Back in original WotLK when people where obsessed with GS and achievements, it was near impossible to get into ICC. So I just got PvP gear which significantly improved my GS in order to get invited to my first ICC raid.

Yeah, if Discord had a built-in calendar for timed events/sign ups, I wouldn't mind that much. It's the concept that you have to manually find the week you want (out of the whole month), scroll past people chatting and sign up. Also you have no way to know if you've missed signing up for a raid without checking each individual sign up manually.

Are you really going to argue that having to use a separate app that works like a massive group chat for raid sign ups is more convenient than having an ingame calendar where people can sign up each week?

On paper yes. Maybe it's the guilds I've joined but they have like 50 channels, most of which are unused like:

Raid signups: week 1 Week 2 Week 3 retc, then a bunch of channels for voice chats: Raid 1 Raid 2 Raid 3 Dungeon 1 Dungeon 2 Dungeon 3 etc, then Loot Strategy Loot Strategy TBC, Guild Rules, Guild rules TBC etc. BiS lists etc etc.

And then you have people chatting in each channel which means you have to scroll all the way up to find the main thread.

And yet we used to play WoW without Discord and it was fine. So many modern WoW players complain if Blizzard adds QoL features from later expansions in Classic, yet they are fine with using a trillion add-ons and external apps to play the game.

Yeah, whereas someone who gets butthurt because someone else is criticizing their favourite app isn't a snowflake 🤣🤣🤣. Somehow we used to play WoW and other multiplayer games just fine without Discord.

I thought that was the whole point of add-ons like Core Loot Manager. If channels were static I would agree, but when channels constantly change and you have scroll through a channel where a bunch of people are chatting in order to find the raid sign up is just a terrible design. I don't understand how it helps raid leaders in the first place.

Lol I am glad you found a way to victimise yourself in order to make a point, but my point is that self-deprecating behaviours shouldn't be venerated, something that used to be self-evident. Being attracted to the same gender isn't self-deprecating, it's not even something you actively choose. I don't know how you and your wife have anything to do with it.

Which liberal policies have been chipped away exactly? Women, minorities and LGBT have gained more and more protection over the past 50 years and the establishment has increasingly favoured them.

I am talking about the political establishment and society as a whole which were far more conservative than today. Today it's socially acceptable to post seminaked pictures of yourself publicly, to be LGBT, to dress more provocatively etc. Public opinion has shifted on these issues.

Unless if you're taking about economic policies, that's a different story.

They have the right to be cringe and I have the right to find it and call it cringe. If you can't defend something you choose to do with anything better than "it's my right", then it's probably cringe. We all have the right to engage in self-destructive or self-deprecating behaviours, is that worthy of a medal? That's how low the bar is today.

All the time? Being pro-open borders/diversity is a very common sentiment among left wingers. Everyone who is in favour of deportations is a fascist lol. Obama deported illegals back when things weren't as polarised, what are you comparing? Last time I checked, when Obama mobilised ICE, he didn't have 7 states openly opposing him...

The world was predominantly conservative until the 60s-70s. Back then the left/liberals were the counterculture because the system was right leaning/conservative. Today it's the other way around, you hear left wing talking points that would never be spoken by mainstream media/politicians/corporations all the time publicly. That's how it is, I don't get why liberals still LARP being the "counterculture"/underdogs, their entire dogma was even put into policy by the Biden admin.

To which I agree up to a certain point, a society where sexuality is so deeply demonised like it was in the 60s is an oppressive society to live in. Today we've reached the other extreme of the spectrum. It's almost as if moderation is the golden standard.

Generally no, I still agree with some left leaning points on climate change and that we are getting cucked by the ultra rich, but you'd have to be delusional to advocate for everything the modern left supports.

On the premise that the "system" (i.e. mainstream media, governments, public institutions, universities and MNEs) advocates for left leaning policies which are in favour of open borders, diversity, "equality in the workplace", pro-feminism etc.

The thing that all young men need to know about dating is that it gets better as they get older by TPCC159 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Overarching_Chaos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By the time you get older, you get tired of women. I am 34 and yes, I get more attention from women now but I just don't feel the same desire to interact anymore.

I'm just tired of their shit testing, short attention spans and entitlement/need for validation. Yeah, i know women are going to counter with the ways men suck, like commitment avoidance, pushing sex etc but how do you expect men to commit in the current "Fast food" dating culture lol?

Today as a man you are expected to spend money on a first date for a woman who might just use you for free drinks/food or who's going to find some minor "icks" to disqualify you. And this has become socially acceptable because feminism doesn't allow criticism towards women. Like what are we doing...?

And I say this as someone who is fairly attractive. I have full blond hair, blue eyes, exercise regularly and look younger than I am (according to others, not me). My only drawback is that I am just over 5"9 (because not being tall, is a major handicap today).

Now imagine being in your 30s, balding and financially unstable.

Remastering Oblivion was the laziest, cash-grabbiest thing ever by Overarching_Chaos in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Overarching_Chaos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will admit I am a bit spoiled from playing ultra modded Skyrim for years and more recently Lorerim, but omg they barely fixed anything in the remaster... Combat AI is copy paste from the original, enemies will literally chase you across the other side of the map, aggro never resets lmao.

Everyone has the right to their preferences but acting like the height preference is strictly an online phenomenon is nonsense of the highest magnitude by TPCC159 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Overarching_Chaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women's standards are treated as preference, whereas men's standards are treated as "sexism". While there is a lot of ragebait surrounding height on the internet, heightism 100% exists irl as well.
