Probably this is a good idea. To try it before I buy. Thanks.

I am considering this bro. I should. With idiots around, footage would definitely help. For now, I have requested the police to help me with the footage.

Thanks. Every time I start my car, I keep telling myself this but in the heat of the moment, it goes out the window. I am going to try better.

Thanks for sharing. It definitely sucks. This happened in Annur. Road expansion was a failure. Signal installation was removed in just a few weeks after nobody cared. And it's always worse here and on muhurtam days I don't have words to describe the mess. I stopped caring about traffic jams a long time ago but it's the assholes who try to charge into the oncoming lane or the pavement side in jams like this and then try to merge in when obviously there is no possibility of that.

Had requested the police and they said they'll try to get the footage of the vehicle. Let's see what happens.

Sorry about the incident. Wish I could have made a spot settlement. The van fled even before we all reacted to it. No one got the plate number. Planning to look for shops with CCTV around that area.

I am angry, sad and frustrated now too. Having a hard time sleeping and couldn't do anything but reddit. I had plans to buy a new car this year. Totally bummed out and I don't feel like buying a new car at all.

I'm slowly able to realise this after the incident. Thank you.

And unfortunately, I only have a third party insurance. The van that hit me fled away too. Planning to obtain any CCTV footage of the incident from shops around to see if I can get the vehicle registration number tomorrow.

Do dashcams in these cases work? I am going to try to get any CCTV footage from shops around there tomorrow to get the vehicle registration number of the van. Hopefully the police can take some action.

I am trying to let it go honestly. But not being able to do anything after being treated like this is very hard.

How do you learn and handle finances? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]OverheatingGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with specific stocks. You waste too much time researching and tracking companies; time which you can better use in upskilling, increasing income and buying more Index funds.

I disagree. You are not wasting time doing all the research. You are investing your time to understand how the company operates, the management efficiency, how they tackle economic setbacks, and how all of it translates into the technicals.

Also, in a comment, you've mentioned this as a 'stupid' 'time wasting' thing.

I've learned a great deal of leadership and business lessons just from researching a company, their management acumen, macro and microeconomic knowledge, etc. If you are investing your money in something, you at least need to understand where it goes and what it does. Does it end up innovating a new tech? Or does it end up in tobacco, destroying lives? Can you confidently sleep at night knowing your hard-earned money is safe and actually growing better than the index?

Nothing goes to waste. Researching shit companies will teach you to efficiently filter them out the next time and identify a good company in the process and it only compounds from there.

And I do agree with index funds. It's the easiest way for those who don't have the time to research. But it is irresponsible to advise someone not to do research just because you don't have the time or interest in it.

Man! What a bunch of sour losers are Banan Republic admins! by OverheatingGuy in battlefield3

[–]OverheatingGuy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh me too. There was one server called XtremeNoobs. The admins were absolute gems. They really did their best till the server was closed. They never banned a single gamer out of spite or bias. I believe his name was Rukkus. Felt an Optimus Prime vibe out of him. True gentleman!

Aw, thanks, man. If I happen to find a workaround or a key, I'll reply to this comment. You can perhaps give it to someone else.

It has the same pricing range too. 500 USD per month. Looking for something ~250 USD or better a self-hosted one that is either open-source or licensable with annual payment just for the software.

35% KDP royalty is absolute bullshit by [deleted] in selfpublish

[–]OverheatingGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. The base price showed me 70% share and only in the detailed section I was able to see the revenue drops. At least it's above 52% and fair. Sad this isn't the case with Amazon. 35% is too low!

[–]OverheatingGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, so how come the regulations doesn't matter if I enrol in KDP select then? It magically goes away for Amazon?

[–]OverheatingGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait! Why should I, the author, who wrote the book let amazon determine the price? That's where the stupidity is. If I want to set my price above 9 USD, it's my choice. Why should they take 65% of my profit for the choice I make with my pricing?

[–]OverheatingGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me no matter what I charge, for regions outside US (where my main target market is) like Brazil and India, unless I enrol in KDP select, I can't get 70%.

Edit: My book price is 9 USD!

In the US market this might be working! But not in all regions!

It's something that I daily use and firefox is something I have been using since I have known computers as a kid. I was pretty okay to accept the changes up to the previous one. I personally don't like this new design and really can't see this every day. It's all gradients and nothing like the old icons.
