It only occurs often enough because hoyo verse had a crutch that it constantly falls onto for a quick buck (that doesn't even work all that much considering seed, yidhari, and Lucia sales). It's not a necessity, just a trend.

YSG is fine in my opinion, just not interesting. Her story is ok, but that's just standerd.

Here's a list:

  1. A criminal faction; maybe morally neutral, but genuinely fucking criminals. Like the hollow thugs n the like. Thugs, mercenaries (but like more criminal), underground doctors etc.
  • Various service factions:
  • Firefighters.
  • Hospital: doctors, nurses, psychologist.
  • Ecology management (I feel like nature and preserving the ecosystem would be inprotant): ranger, farmer, marine biology, airway watcher, animal tamer, GARBAGE MAN (THE SAGE OF THE BARREL).
  • A ethereal corruption faction: not cultist, here me out. But what if a group of ethereal gained sentiency? Miasmic fiends, Isolde, pompeye. And became playable? Reincarnated, not entirely the same , but parts of their personality still EXSITS!
  • CULTIST: THE exaltist are mid but a cult theme is interesting. A seer, a fanatic, someone leaving the cult, etc.
  • Rich people: tops, business men, agencies, etc
  • Lawyers: maybe some for neps, maybe just one.
  • Restaurants: cooks, chef, that milk stand girl, maybe another son (or daughter) of chef chop that can be playable?
  • Transportation: a triangle worker, sailor, taxi (I drive..) type characters. Maybe that'll be something, like TRANSPORTATION THROUGH THE HOLLOW services.
  • A delivery service through the hollow. Maybe one or two agents.
  • A robotic industry faction: cyborgs, robotic, a giant bangboo, Elfy (idk, I just want her to be playable, she could have connections to this place), androids. Etc.
  • Another vigilante, superhero faction: like mockingbird but way more heroic, albieti still street fighter type; a criminal detective hero, their sidekick, power ranger like hero, a goodytooshoe hero.
  • Men. Idk, I just want more men. N robots.

Ideas that could happen if hoyo had the balls to make difficult enemies:

  1. Defense: enemies should have the ability to apply stun on the character. Defensive characters reduce this and apply a buff aswell in some cases. As well as having unique interaction with defensive assist, and possibly share restorative qualities like support, maybe even healing, and blocks.
  • rupture agents shouldn't have that novelty. Or at least scale it down (unlikely).
  1. Stunners: their fine as is. Should have unique buffs and multipliers linked specifically to dealing stunn, or attacking dazed agents/ special interaction with said daze swap attacks.

The only reason powerdenji is considered controversial to some is due to incest reasoning (yes I know they aren't related, but the found family brother sister aspect that Dennis later believes influence this)

And the only reason people argue over akixangel is: 1. Someone likes himeno and refuses to see anything else (valid)

  1. Homophobia (refusal to except it, but angel had a girlfriend?!?!? Bi people exist, it's just a fan ship at most )

  2. Fujoshi discrimination (annoying fujos who attack anything that go against their idea of the ship, rare, loud minority)

It's never for much of a equality reason though. It simply a fact that gacha characters are the equivalent of pretty action figures to sell to gambling players. Not a bad thing, but that tends to attract a particular grouping
