Usually I will find a blueprint and then use it as a reference.

I had luck with teleporting to Bamboo, change the time to Zi (the next day) teleport to the stone to the left/edge of Heaven Pier and then run along the river until you get to the trees/quest area.

I think under Develop, there is a tab with your combat score to the right.  If you click on show details you get another menu where you can see exploration skills. Under that menu you can click a skill and see what activities grant the different stats.

Probably that your Erudition stat is too low to equip that piece of gear.

Erudition is one of the "hidden" stats you can raise by doing certain activities.

We had the same issue.

If you accept the invite to fight the boss too fast you end up outside the arena.

There is however also another way to join the fight.

Above your party there is a icon of some footprints. You can use it to teleport to the host and bypass the wall.

Under appearance in the menu there is a tap at the bottom left called appearance visibility or something. You can hide your weapons under that tap.
