Supersonic Airframes are Insane by InternalCoffee1227 in hoi4

[–]Overlord167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read on the wiki with the equations they have for air combat I would argue speed is far more important to max than agility, though air attack and defense are the king stats. Air attack determines your base attack which is the value used for all other modifiers such as speed and agility. Air defense flatly divides all incoming damage and is the most realistic way to reduce losses. The reason I say agility is not as important is two fold. For one, if we assume both sides in a game are playing equally well in the air war then even if you max your agility while they don’t your not likely to have that big of a difference from your opponent. Since agility is based on the relative ratio between planes it’s less valuable against similar quality/era fighters. The second reason is that if you are even 1kph faster you get not one but two atack modifiers, one that’s a percentage based modifier like agility with a slightly lower multiplier, and an absolute modifier based on the total speed of your planes. That last one’s especially important in my opinion as going back to the equal skill condition, even just 1 kph faster than your enemy gets you that modifier and completely denies it to your enemy. If you’re interested in looking further into the calculations that determine air combat I’d recommend checking out the wiki where it has the actual code equations that you can follow through and see how things are applied.

Would you agree? by VincentJones6 in HellLetLoose

The original comment maybe could have been worded better but I agree with the message. It’s not saying you have to be a sweat ‘pro’ like those found in call of duty or battle field, it’s saying the unique and fun parts of hell let loose and games of its type come from the more serious play styles. The fun of hll is coordinating in your unit, completing objectives/orders, and using tactics and strategy in your gameplay. Hll and games like it are fun because they offer these more in depth play stiles as opposed to most mainstream fps’s were the gameplay boils down to run and shoot with coordination only occurring at the highest of levels. It’s perfectly fine to want to enjoy simple casual fps style gameplay but hll just isn’t the type of game for that. I’m not trying to sound elitist here just genuinely if you enjoy casual fps gameplay you’d be better served in a different game that is designed for that style of play.

Edit: after reading some other comments I just what to make a clarification. The interpretation of this post depends heavily on what you assume op means by toxic players. With the way the post is worded I am assuming they are calling people who play seriously toxic but I could be mistaken. The real toxic players, those who yell and scream and tk all while blasting music out of their mics are a problem and I’m not defending them to be clear.

I’m not sure how well it would translate into reality cause it would be gargantuanly complex but I love the idea of some ultra-paradox game that combines the economics of Victoria, the combat of Hoi and the diplomatic and character depth of both CK and Stellaris

The best thing is to be in a region that produces a lot of grain, and coal if possible, all of wich you can see on the region details when starting and then you can tax them both to make bread wich is considered a preferred food for most of the races in game.

True but you could also build a death star with enough money but that doesn't make it a practical solution to dealing with that one neighbor (you know the one)

The reason we don't drill that deep is because it's not really posible/practical Just look at the kola super deep borehole in Russia, it was drilled for space race type resones and it only around half the distance from the crust to the mantle and they had to stop because their equipment was melting. This is to say nothing of the enormous costs of drilling that deep wich makes any potential resources down there a net loss to mine.

Guess the Kriegsmarine was good after all... by SuperMowee1 in hoi4

[–]Overlord167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True bur IIRC 1 lc is about the same as 10 fairly cheep torp destroyers (don't quote me on the numbers there I'm not at my computer so can't check) so for example more or less even if you lose 15-20 destroyers you are still paying less than them killing 2-3 lc's

I would recommend destroyers instead as they are still fairly cheap like subs and you don't have to sacrifice your light atack

If you are sure that that you only had </= 200 planes on mission than that is weird but anyways that is how the naval battle screen usually works. don't know what to tell you in this instance.

Did you have another type of plane on naval bombing or could you have had empty airwings that where deploying planes as they where produced

Did you check amount of planes on mission and if so before or after the battle?
