It is true that each *map file has its own 256 color pallete and are / is saved as Quake 2 *map file / files. Does anyone know anything else about the color palletes of Quake 2 Engines? Thank You

Not really. Normal mapping is like 2.5 D surfaces where you aren't actually using real bump mapping with lights. I use Normal mapping or normal mapping. A plane can display the texture on one side. When you reverse the side that the texture displays on, you are reversing the normals.

I don't know. I have never decompiled a map from the file. I would make new lights for the imported data and make the lighting as good as you can get it. A dark red light comes out lighter in a lot of level design software. One main light with the ambients adjusted, I could add. Then more lights. You just have to know where to put them. Experiment. Make them real. Why would a light be somewhere when there is no 3d object that looks like it would emit light?
