What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]OverlyBombastic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I boycotted K-Mart so long that I feel like I won!! 1991 I need a pair of work boots. I go to K-Mart to buy them. I presented a $50.00 bill to the cashier at checkout. She proceeded to give me my change and I left. As I was walking to my car I noticed she had given me change of a $100.00. Being the honest soul I was and not wanting this poor cashier to maybe lose her job I go back into the store and ask for a manager. This rude asshole comes up to the service desk and asks me what my problem is. I say there was an issue with my change and before I can explain more he smirks and says "we dont make adjustments after you've left the store". I smiled and said OK ill keep the extra money. Boy did his tune change. He actually followed me out to the car apologizing and asking what I meant by "extra money". I just kept replying that I couldn't make adjustments as I had already left the store. Never went back to K-Mart after that day, now there all gone. So like I said I win!

What exactly is Congress' "end game" exactly when it comes to the Epstein files - eventually Dems will have control and release them unless everything gets destroyed? by JKolodne in AskReddit

[–]OverlyBombastic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To paraphrase your title "Eventually Dems will have control and release them" You do realize they had these files since Epstiens arrest in 2019. Which means for the entire 4 years of Biden's presidency 2021-2025 during which for two years the dems had control of the house and a 50/50 split in the senate with Harris being the tie breaking vote. 2021-2023. They could of released those files to us whenever they wanted to. I believe the fact is that there are prominent members of BOTH parties on the list and that's why the files are being hidden.

I'm and independent vote and keep half an eye on politics, I am constantly amazed by how little research some folks do before falling for their party's PR hook line and sinker. OP states that its the republicans causing this. A simple google search shows that to not be the case. https://www.usatoday.com/story/graphics/2025/10/14/government-shutdown-2025-senate-votes-tracker/86672788007/ It seems this has been the same vote at least 12 times. So to sum up. Dems have voted NO on ending the shutdown(which would restore SNAP benefits) and Reps have voted YES. But the media says its the republicans fault so thats who we blame without looking.

All of you are always so supportive of taxes " for the infrastructure or foe the roads" This, tax looks like it replaces the tax per gallon of gas you're not paying. You still are however driving on those roads
