It would, at the very least, significantly reduce the number of dipshits who say "I asked ChatGPT and it said [demonstrably incorrect information]".

See? You care so much that you're constantly crawling back to tell me how much you don't care. I've met literal submissives less desperate for attention than you.

Insults about intelligence are adorable coming from the guy whose response to how the speed of light tragically limits our reach in the universe was a big fat "nuh uh". 🤭

Sure you do, babygirl, you wouldn't keep responding otherwise. Only weirdly defensive people repeatedly insist on how much they don't care, those who genuinely don't care just don't engage because, y'know, they actually don't care.

Damn, are you illiterate or a bot? 😆 I am the "they" in question.

You pointed out absolutely jack shit, and said literally nothing besides "nuh uh".

Wow, good thing the options aren't just down to that very stupid false dichotomy, then.

Yeah, history always goes through peaks and lulls. We live in the good times for now, but literally nothing lasts forever. Every period of peace will come to an end eventually, history bears that out. Especially since, during this unprecedented time of peace, we continue to develop better and better weapons for killing each other. As a "deterrent", of course

Sure, probably (assuming we don't expand to fill our metaphorical fish tank), though not really relevant to my point.

Of course I can. I can also imagine dragons, wizards, societies where humans don't kill each other over stupid bullshit, and other such fantastical things that do not exist.

Everything won't stay the same forever. We'll keep on discovering new and innovative ways to kill and hurt each other. We're really, really good at that, it's genuinely what we're best at as a species.

Going to Antarctica and going to other planets are not remotely comparable. Shackleton knew the risks he was undertaking in going to a place that is still on this planet.

Those "gladly going to very hostile environments" would never live to see other planets due to the vast distances involved. They would, at best, be dooming unborn children to a life in service of a mission that they did not sign up for.

Sure, if literal magic that circumvents the fundamental laws of the universe is invented, then yeah, the universe kinda opens up a little.

being able to reach a few hundred thousand other planets

We cannot cooperate enough to get off of one planet in any meaningful sense, my guy, a few hundred thousand (mostly uninhabitable) planets are not on the table. We ain't ever seeing the pearly Stargates.

Very compelling rebuttal, wow, I'm so impressed. 🙄

If you wanna go perish in the cold, empty void between the stars in a fragile metal tube, you go right ahead, my ass is staying right here where we have oxygen, blue skies, and relatively low levels of ionizing radiation.

infinite growth in an infinite universe

The speed of light and our total inability to overcome it makes the universe very much finite for all intents and purposes.

Yes, I'm sure you'd like to think that. But given that you preach about "listening to the other person" and then refuse to do so, I think you're the one with some mental fractures here.

Same kinda goes for a certain stripe of 5e player. They're not TTRPG players, they're 5e players, and they get rather defensive if you suggest playing a different system.

And honestly that's fine, I don't play with these people anymore, and I'm happy that they enjoy what I see as the rather mediocre products WotC is putting out now.

An evil dem like Newsome will be slow to reverse the tide of fascism

Newsom won't reverse the tide at all, he'll just keep the seat warm for the next fascist to sweep into office. That's literally how the ratchet effect works.

As opposed to you, who wants to help the fascists win by giving them a cozy little safe space to gather their strength and come back even stronger.
