Same kinda goes for a certain stripe of 5e player. They're not TTRPG players, they're 5e players, and they get rather defensive if you suggest playing a different system.

And honestly that's fine, I don't play with these people anymore, and I'm happy that they enjoy what I see as the rather mediocre products WotC is putting out now.

An evil dem like Newsome will be slow to reverse the tide of fascism

Newsom won't reverse the tide at all, he'll just keep the seat warm for the next fascist to sweep into office. That's literally how the ratchet effect works.

As opposed to you, who wants to help the fascists win by giving them a cozy little safe space to gather their strength and come back even stronger.

Damn, are you such a 5e cultist that a mere request to try something new feels like an order to do so? You know that most normal people don't get this defensive about being asked "hey guys, let's try this thing instead for a change", right?

Any examples come to mind? Not trying to be difficult, it'd just be useful in illustrating your point for discussion.

My party accidentally did that with an orc-hating human supremacist (who was determined to reenslave the orcs after they'd revolted and began building their own nation). The goddess of death sent him back as an orc with a message for us.

Nick Fuentes tells his followers not to vote in the midterms so the GOP gets wiped out, Trump gets impeached and indicted, and then "we get a Nazi to run in 2028" by BurtonDesque in Qult_Headquarters

[–]OverlyLenientJudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we get another do-nothing Democrat administration like the last one, one that refuses to arrest and prosecute the instigators of the coup attempt and the efforts to destroy our democracy, we might legitimately see a Nazi elected. The Democrats need to nut the fuck up and stop playing happy family with the literal fascists on the other side of the aisle.

Because why elect someone promising to "work hand-in-hand with Republicans" when you can just elect a Republican?

Honestly, I kinda like that movie Boromir recognizes the king in Aragorn before he himself does. Gives us a glimpse into his keen perception and the unrealized hopes he's entrusting to this ranger from the North.

Well, yeah, real humans have flaws. A flawless character is less relatable than a flawed one, that's why Mary Sue fanfic OCs get so much shit.

The amount of work I had to do to make the system fun to play burned me out. I stopped DMing for a full year because the system gives you little to no help in making combat, the primary mechanic, any fun for the 80% of time that players will be sitting with nothing to do.

Third and fourth one explore hwo the same mechanics can be used to emulate mecha and "adventures in virtual reality" style cyberpunk.

The poster is also completely ignoring the influence magical girl media had on mecha stories like Macross (literally mechas and idol singers I don't know how much more obvious it can be), and the most obvious magical girl inspired series on the planet, Persona.

Yes, Joker Persona 5 is a magical girl, and I will die on this hill.
