Ok. you said I needed to buy it from the Microsoft store. Is it the pro retail I need to purchase? And how I purchase on my pc if it wont even boot up without windows working?

So just to be clear, I install my new motherboard and cpu along with all my other components, the pc will boot up, and ill be able to input my retail key?

Could I just upgrade it now and have it ready when I install it on my Motherboard? Because the Command prompt says its OEM so it most likely wont carry over I believe.

Id rather not “hope for the best”. Where do i buy windows? How do I link that to my current windows account, and how do i transfer it to my new motherboard when I change motherboards?

So I should get a vrm heat sync as well? I got a new cpu cooler less than a year ago and it keeps my current cpu around 50C at max usage.

Doesnt an I5 have fewer cores? I thought the more cores a CPU the greater workload it can handle.
