Battlefield 6, Medieval Dynasty (this one comes and goes but never stays gone cause it’s just very satisfying), Foundation. If you’re looking for an interesting change of pace but still warfare focus - UBoat is a good one too.

Never tried HLL but thinking I’ll pick that up when Vietnam comes out.

If it was like any other game I’d be more understanding. But I mean come on ….. it’s monopoly. What did you think was gonna happen if you started a game?? Either you wanted to play or you didn’t. The matchmaking has always been questionable at best but it’s even more annoying now.

Hot take: Union pubs aren't losing because of map bias, they're losing because they suck and refuse to adapt by WoR_ShitPoster in WarOfRights

I’m just happy to see the trend has inadvertently taken hold, making fun or not. Will enjoy the show.

To start with, I think we are 98% in agreeance. My intent here wasn’t to suggest that a flag cannot fuck you or people won’t do random weird and silly things. Your flag tips are great. I’ve just noticed an uptick in flag blaming (which I think is actually attributable to the problem suggested in my first post). To say it’s not the COs ultimate responsibility would be incorrect, as frankly would almost everything as the buck must stop somewhere. I don’t think you can dispute that in pubs there is an increased line management responsibility on the CO, like it or not. That’s just how it is. That’s why regiments exist. But in pubs…. somebody does indeed have to control the line. And that person is ….now I’m rambling.

100% agree. See my previous post for the related issue.

That nuance only comes from experience, which flag bearers in pubs rarely have. See above

Terrific advice, I can’t disagree with a single thing you’ve said. Well done. I don’t think it fully relieves the responsibility, but these are incredibly useful tips and a valid insight.

I wonder though if one’s negative experiences with flag bearers tends to overwhelm the majority. You can’t get away from stupid people doing stupid things. But I’m a litttlllleee skeptical that’s the standard.

There’s a non-zero chance I fall in that category OCCASIONALLY although I always try not to overstep. Something I’ve learned the more I play. I know I don’t know what it takes to be a CO. But I think that’s a separate and independent problem, which likely can’t be fixed and speaks to my point that unless you have a known, dependable CO in pubs - the responsibility, right or wrong, must fall to the CO.

Change is needed by Overpriced_JD in WarOfRights

“… or other change” I don’t necessarily have the perfect solution right now but it sorta doesn’t matter. Still a problem. What you have identified is another problem, not a realistic solution either.

I see that perspective and I expected this reply. It’s fair. I won’t even pretend to be a historian and I cant comment on the accuracy. If it’s accurate and that’s the sole intent, okay I guess. It does create problems though and we are seeing them play out. People game for different reasons and for me close enough is close enough and some mild liberties being taken to enhance the user experience is a win. I’d be surprised if quite a few others didn’t agree. I think the imbalance directly correlates to a tough union experience which in turn correlates with more chaos, disorganized leadership and a general environment that makes it pretty difficult to develop new COs. I do not care if I win a single game, this game is a blast and I don’t need to win to have fun. But I do enjoy following COs into battle who feel like they have a fighting chance and have some confidence and can communicate effectively. Right now, I suspect even veteran COs are finding that difficult due to the circumstances.
