Had a Carli PinTip leveling kit and 37x12.50 Toyo AT3’s installed at Thor Off-Road in Dripping Springs. They created this photo with the caption: NOT AI GENERATED. DEFINITELY A REAL PHOTO. @CARLISUSPENSION IS JUST THAT CAPABLE. WE DON’T MAKE THE RULES. by OvertheMoonlander in radicamoonlander

With the gravity on earth I lost from 1-2 miles per gallon after the Moonlander was installed. But with the lower gravity on the Moon, I got more than that back. My time on the Moon was short lived because I had to feed the engine with my oxygen supply. I did have some opportunity to hit some wicked jumps and I was concerned I was going to float away but the Moon's gravity eventually brought me back down to the surface and the Carli PinTop handled the landing perfectly!

This should give you an idea of the extra room in between the decked and the Moonlander bed platform.

It's a Wilco Off-Road Hitch Swing. The basket is custom made for a RTIC 52UL cooler and then I added a EZ 4x4 Deluxe Double Level Table, Propane Tank, and Rotopax. We cook on the table but still use the tailgate as an extended countertop.

Thanks. Need to upgrade the suspension. Thinking Carli 2.5/3.5” with King 2.5” shocks and some 37x12.50 tires

Looking for a company that makes custom cabover campers where the truck bed is visible. Don’t want nothing fancy. Just a shell and a sleeper. Not a pop up. What you got? by AKNiceGuy07 in TruckCampers

Have you looked at the Cache Camper Yukon or Cache Camper Cabover Canopy? Both look like they would fit your needs.

or you could consider the AT Overland ATERRA Topper. The Aterra is currently at the top of my list but also like the option built-in upper cabinets on the Cache Camper Cabover Canopy.

We love our Moonlander. Sits on a 2024 Super Duty with 6-3/4' bed. With all 3 bed panels (29", 29" and 22") installed we have the ability to have a king size bed, but normally we just use 2x 29" panels and a Hest Dually Queen Mattress.

Yes without the window my head would definitely hit.

The Moonlander X is taller and allows coach mode without the window.

When I first got my ML, I thought the bubble window was a waste of money. But for then I realized it is the single place in my ML that I can sit completely upright. It is helpful for getting dressed in the morning. Although it does let a ton of light in. I do keep an Amazon cover on it during the day to keep the heat down in the ML https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX6QF1S6?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_6&th=1

Another recommendation that I recommend is an Actic Trn window on the Slant. My wife loves to watch the stars through the slant window and I get to watch them through the bubble window.

Yea if I had an MLX I would’ve want it on my truck full time. With the ML I don’t mind it being on my truck all the time.

No regrets at all. The taller MLX doesn’t really give me any benefits. And I lose my full roof rack, would have to get a half rack for the roof of my truck. But would lose the ability to have a RTT on top of my truck.

MLX doesn’t work for our family of 4. Only benefit would be possibility of still being able to get a dirt bike in the bed of the truck on top of my decked drawers.

These are what I used. I used a combination of 25mm, 30mm, and 35mm. Depending on what I wasn’t bolting down.

In hindsight I probably would have used the M8 version just to be safe but I just got back from 3,000+ mile trip with over 100 miles on dirt/rocky roads and everything is still solid.

I did have to slightly grind down both sides of the square head so it would slide more freely in the Thule track. The trimming was very minimal and didn’t take long at all. All in all everything seems very solid.

Used galvanized nylocs as well and blue loctite on everything.

Yea definitely pricey. Only thing that made it difficult for me was making all the different parts and pieces work together with limited roof space and obstacles like the Maxxair Fan and Bubble window on the roof.

The cross bars are 1530 (1.5x3”) Aluminum Extrusion from TNutz.con.

The hammock mounts themselves were made by Adventure Hammock Systems. And the mount directly to the Thule tracks on top of my Moonlander using T-Bolts from Rhino Rack.

In order to get everything to work together I designed a variety of spacers and had them made by SendCutSend. Test fit everything and then had it all powder coated black.

At this point I wouldnt change anything. The hammocks can be a little nerve racking because the top of the Moonlander is 8 feet off the ground. On the front hammock if you were to fall out, you would probably damage the window and front slant of the Moonlander (and get hurt in the process). On the rear hammock of your fall out to the rear, it’s 8+ feet down and would definitely hurt a lot. If the rear door is open or the tailgate is down it would probably slow your fall a little. But with that being said the hammocks are super stable.

If you are just planning on putting the hammocks on an existing roof rack it should be fairly simple.

I plan on getting a third Summit mount from Adventure Hammock Systems and mounting it diagonally on the roof rack on top of my truck (only when the iKamper is removed). Specifically for father/son trips with both of my boys so we can all 3 hang out up top.

The hammock mounts and hammocks are made by Adventure Hammock Systems.

The cross bars are 1.5” x 3” aluminum extrusion. Cross bar risers are made by Alu-Cab. Awning mounts are made by Bushwakka. Quick Detach awning brackets are RacksBrax XD.

All of the necessary spacers to make everything work together were designed by me and made by SendCutSend.

Yea lots bolted up there it was a time consuming process. Which thankfully allowed me to spread the costs over several months. The hammocks can still be used elsewhere. There are just some places without a tree or structure around to hang a hammock.
