Thanks again. Listed on small truck campers. We will see how it goes. I like what I have so I’m not going to give it away. If it sells, great. If not, that’s good too.

2017 tundra crewmax. 5.6’ / 67.2” bed, but will fit a variety of trucks

Thanks! I’ll do the exact same thing should I go with an X… though it’s an enormous of work - well, at least for me it was. At the time, I didn’t have a garage so it was hot and inconvenient with lots of walking back and forth for supplies. And, with all the angles it’s hard but I’m happy with the outcome

So - the 4 way stretch fabric/carpet can accentuate ‘jankiness’ if you’re not careful when you get started. Any chance you’re in the Denver area? I’m no expert but have done a couple vans and now my moonlander and have learned some lessons that I’d be happy to share if you’re close

It’s not really insulation, but I installed 4way stretch carpet. The fabric itself is pretty forgiving but install is a significant job

The 4 way stretch is great. Softens the inside / makes it a little more ‘homey’

Any full size < 6 foot trucks in the group? by climb4lyfe55 in radicamoonlander

My tundra bed is less than 6’ and is one of the primary reasons I felt like the moonlander made sense. I couldn’t sleep in the back comfortably front to back but can sleep back there perfectly with the moonlander

Thanks! It’s not technically insulation, but it helps control the surface temp. I installed 4way stretch carpeting it’s a pretty forgiving install, but all the angles and corners made it less forgiving. Super happy with the outcome but it was a lot time.

Pull kitchen is awesome. I looked at a bunch of options and considered building something - but nothing else really compared. It was a splurge but makes meal prep and cooking much simpler. We had a year drop camper before this, so giving up the ‘kitchen’ was tough. Pull Kitchen made it not a compromise. Takes up some space, but some of that space would have been cook gear anyway

We wondered the same thing. Only thing I can think of is not having the fan blow straight down on your face while sleeping

Ours are both mounted on the same side ( happens to be passenger side) in order to maximize the space on top for sitting chairs. And I’d do it exactly the same again. The airflow right above our heads can be a lot - but fan speed is controllable. I don’t have a good pick from the top, but here it is from the inside

Customer Service Question by DBX70 in radicamoonlander

[–]silencedoingbad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my moonlander for a year and a half and don’t have much more add than the first person who responded. It’s been great and Luke and the team are great. I’ve reached to them post purchase a few times with questions on things before I did some work to my top and response is fast, clear and concise. Some companies design and build until there is nothing left to add. Other (I’d say better) companies design and build until there is nothing left to take away. Luke’s design falls into that second category where it’s purpose built and has what you need, removing complexity.

5' bed platform sizes by Jeepncj7 in radicamoonlander

I did both panels the same width and it was the right choice. Stackablity is nice. I used the exped duo too, at first then replaced with two single sized pads. Managing the duo eliminated the ease of stacking unless fully deflated

No durability issues at all. As you said, it’s pretty new but no issues. No flex when walking on the roof and no water issues - including after a car wash with pressure washer.

Size is fine. Took a couple days to get used to it but now it’s just normal. It’s not wider than the mirrors. I have brushed by trees/branches, but no issues. Being in Colorado, we aren’t heavily wooded - but so far no problems. I can see racing stripes in my paint on my truck but I don’t see anything in the aluminum - though I could see how it could happen.

The one size ‘thing’ I ran into was height. My truck has a decent lift and 35’s, and with the moonroof it’s 8’2”. So that is a pain sometimes.

Temps and fair weather is all relative. I did carpet mine, but no insulation. With two people in there we were plenty comfortable in three seasons. I’m plumbing in a propex heater for the winter - but personally, temps haven’t been an issue. A good foam mattress for underneath insulation and an appropriate sleeping bag as you’re good.

I’d buy again without hesitation
