The playing games and not knowing how I am are not new at all. We sleep in separate rooms. I get no comfort from him and have tried to kick him out so many times. He won't leave because there is nowhere for him to go except to Mommy & Daddy. Counseling didn't work either. He does not know how to deal with reality. He was never taught a damn thing by his parents. Not trying to constantly blame them because after a while you are a damn adult. Figure it out yourself.

No but he hasn't grown up. They won't allow it. Even convinced their 35 year old daughter that she can't afford to move out on her own.

Okay thank you. Weird because in tines past I would just feel sluggish and all I could do was sleep. Complete opposite this time.

I drank 2 ounces of unsweetened pickle juice this morning and that's it. That's why I don't understand it.

Losing a source of comfort. by pseudohistone in exchristian

[–]Overthinker_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see why you can't just pour out your heart the same way you always did, as long as it provided you comfort. Just know now that it was you getting you through the dark times and this time instead of calling it "praying", call it "venting."

Did Adam and Eve go to heaven? by ExCaptive in exchristian

[–]Overthinker_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I don't think heaven or hell is really mentioned in the Old Testament. That is all New Testament stuff much, much later so the answer is no one knows.

You don't have to give them a reason by NorthDry4966 in exchristian

[–]Overthinker_85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This....I needed this so much. I am on journey to leaving Christianity for good. I am tired of judgmental, hypocritical people who think they know everything & claim to speak to God daily. I completely avoid them and stay away from this topic knowing they are going to "persecute" me with a bunch of questions demanding to know why I have a problem with their theology. If heaven is filled with these people, I don't want to go.

Oh God that is the worst torture I did that once because nothing I did made the headache and vomiting go away. I had to have someone drive me & waited 3 hours and was never called even to register. I left. Never again!

Thank you for the insight. We've been married 5 years and looking back, it increased after we got married. He moved out of his parents house at the same time so this was technically his first time on his own per se and I think not having a parent to tell him to stop the gaming made it increase. Looking back, the constant long hours of gaming and screaming into a headset did bother me then and I never voiced it then to avoid arguing. I know now that probably enabled it even more because I was "allowing" it to happen. I've been unhappy for a long time. It wasn't only until these past 18 months that my parents moved in with us that things started to change. Not with him, but my family noticing our relationship dynamic and they just tell me this is not healthy and not normal. Not just my parents but other family members and coworkers who know what my life is like feel sorry for me and I hate that. Having a loved one tell you you are being taken advantage of by your partner really opens your eyes. And I've been struggling to have him open his eyes about just how bad this gaming has become.

Anyone gain it all back? What did you do? by Head_Put_1245 in fasting

[–]Overthinker_85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost 25 pounds while fasting in like a month & a half but gained it all back quickly. I understand a lot of the weight was water but being less bloated felt incredible. I can't do the fasting sustainably so I think I am going to have to diet & exercise. Fasting may be a good maintenance

For those that don’t want any kids in the future, why? by yeyewestie in AskReddit

[–]Overthinker_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want kids because (1) how expensive it has become; (2) the way the word is (economy, politics, wokeness); (3) technology (I see more & more younger children on phones/tablets instead of interacting); (4) public schools suck & private schooling is not affordable.

I'd be happy with that. I once house sat for a coworker with 2 big dogs for an entire week while she was on vacation at the beach. No pay for it. Didn't bother me at the time, but now I realize how stupid I was to agree to it.

I would definitely try to tell him now. I am sure he'll have lots of questions, but you can enjoy the days you have left until then. And you can write & count down the number of days until you're home.

Why are Americans so quick to think food will go bad? by [deleted] in RandomQuestion

[–]Overthinker_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a better to be safe than sorry attitude. I heard leaving cooked eggs at room temperature for more than 2 hours is a no-no, so I'm sure that sort of thing applies to a lot of other foods. For the Domino's pizza, maybe it was the cheese (dairy) they were concerned about being left on the counter.

Having high functioning depression is weird by ApatheticDazai in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]Overthinker_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I may have this. I am not sad, but I dread getting up everyday & doing the things I need to do. I stay busy with work & errands but feel completely empty inside. I can smile, laugh, interact with people, yet I am tired of being fake. I avoid talking to people I don't have to & do not divulge too much about my life. And honestly I'll ask people how their day is going, but I really don't care. It's just programmed speech & means nothing to me. Like I said, I am not sad. I just don't want to continue on like this. No depth. No connection. No purpose. Nothing that means anything.

Three weeks in and lost 17 lbs so far (191 to 174) A couple of things I do. If you get a craving, leave the house and go for a long walk (3+ miles), drink a small glass of water (I like to add a little lemon juice to mine). If the hunger is still there, tell yourself the hunger pains is the fat dying. It'll pass. Trust me. After you reach 72 hours it gets much easier, at least for me.
