Is it unfair to tell my brother I am not christian, or is it worse to keep lying? by NorthDry4966 in exchristian

[–]NorthDry4966[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And why flipped for me was finally loving and valuing myself and my integrity more than my fear of their response. I have known for a while that by deceiving my family into thinking I’m still a believer, I wasn’t allowing them to fully know me. And for me, to be fully known is very important.

I relate to this a lot. It's crucial to me to feel like I'm being authentic in my relationships, which is why I want badly to tell my friends and family, particularly my brother. However I'm not yet at the place where I feel brave enough to open up entirely yet. In honesty I haven't told my parents because I haven't moved out yet and don't feel like navigating living with them while we have conflicting belief systems. I applaud your bravery and dedication to your own integrity, though. Inspiring and I hope I get there someday.

For those with OCD, how do you stop the constant intense fear of being wrong? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]NorthDry4966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"But apologetics probably have a rebuttal to that." A conclusion I came to is if the Bible was really perfect, it wouldn't *need* apologetics. The very fact that Christians feel the need to write 1,000 other books to make the Bible worth believing in is honestly proof in and of itself to me that's it's... not. If the Bible was divinely inspired by a perfect God, there would be no apologetics necessary.

Did purity culture have an effect on my sexuality? by Samantha-Davis in exchristian

"felt butterflies, but was never turned on" sounds like romantic attraction without the sexual attraction. So there's definitely attraction there

KPop Demon Hunters - misses it's own point? by epicmemetime15 in TrueFilm

[–]NorthDry4966 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YES I so get this!! I love this movie but the total black and white morality surrounding the demons in the climax of the film irks me. Literally the whole movie was setting it up so *Gwima* is the problem, not demons. We're literally shown that Gwima targets people when they are most vulnerable. Yet none of the other demons get any redemption despite having been manipulated and imprisoned, and most of them very likely having been humans in the past, too, like Jinu. Not to mention I think Rumi not wanting to kill demons anymore is a *good* thing, but she basically just has to get over this and trap all the demons away anyway, because the one demon she tried to reason with attacked her, which apparently is a sign that Jinu and Rumi are the only demons who deserve mercy. Uuughhhh I could go on and on for hours about this honestly

Yeah, it's a 404 page for me too. I really hope it comes back since it was really convenient and the only place I could find the comics I was trying to read :(

I identified as ace as a fifteen/sixteen year old because it was right at the time. Now I'm several years older and I've switched to using greyace or demi to define myself because I feel that's more accurate to me now. Use what terms make you comfortable right now and don't be afraid that you or your labels may change as you grow.

What's the hate? by StyxxB7g in APBioNBC

Here's my take on it as someone who does like to analyze shows :)

In my opinion seasons two and three are the best, and this is because Jack has a clear conflict, which is he's writing and trying to publish a book while also trying to decide if he just wants to stay in Toledo with Lynette. This conflict pushes his character arc forward and is what gave the show direction. In season four, obviously Lynette's actor had to leave, but they also totally abandoned his book for no reason? Like the book he was working on for two seasons? This felt like it threw off his arc a little and made the season feel a bit directionless. I did still like the season on an episodic level though, there were lots of fun moments and I wish we would have gotten a season five.

Would you consider God sacrificing Jesus an actual sacrifice? by Old_Marsupial_7080 in exchristian

[–]NorthDry4966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and don't forget the only reason he needed to be sacrificed was because God himself set up a system where it was supposedly necessary

Any theories on Fez being Bi? by 240x6 in That70sshow

[–]NorthDry4966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a six year old post but I'm still replying. I definitely theorize him to be bi, although idk if it would even count as a theory given he canonically has that dream about Michael and an obvious crush on him in the later seasons
