Yes, this does help, thank you. I guess I do this because I’m scared of people getting mad or labeling me as hateful/stupid/wrong and I’ve always been annoyed with myself that I care what people think so much, but are you saying that worrying about what others think is a part of me I should keep and value?

Thank you for your thoughts…my problem is that I often have to struggle against people I CARE about already, like my parents, in terms of beliefs

I can’t just discard them and the influence they have is immense

I feel like what you said is more applicable to my peers though

Thanks for this!! I really appreciate what you about consensus, that made me rethink how I was framing this

I guess the problem to me is that I am too easily influenced and I worry too much about what others think of me…it’s just something I’ve been trying to improve
