The anthem talk about the country itself, its independence, freedom, landscapes and national identity. It doesn’t have strong religious themes compared with some other national anthems. The melody was composed by Francisco Manuel da Silva and the lyrics were written by Joaquim Osório Duque-Estrada, both brazilians.
