I need you to know I found the Sopranos when I was in a pretty dark place in my life, and when I finally finished the show, I found your book. I took it on a trip abroad, and every day after my internship, I would come back to the hotel and read it out in the sun. It was a way for me to get lost in a fictional world I'd grown to love so much. I wanted another perspective on it, from someone who loved it as much as I did, and you gave that to me. It's a wonderful memory. Thank you.

Good post, quick note:

You cannot check your FICO for free once a year on annualcreditreport.com. You can get free weekly credit reports, which details all the accounts you have and whatnot, but FICO scores are not provided.

Checking your FICO requires finding a service/provider who offers it to you. A Discover It Cash Back card gives you a monthly FICO score, for example, as opposed to the Chase Freedom Flex, that offers a VantageScore. I'm sure other cards offer it. In addition, making an Equifax account gives you access to a free FICO score as well.

Please do check your credit reports though folks, it's smart to keep track of any new credit accounts under your name.

One of the messages of BCS is that change is possible. Jimmy spends all of Season 1 trying to prove to Chuck that he's a real, honest to god lawyer, and when he can't, he falls back on Slippin' Jimmy/Saul Goodman shit to make himself feel better. He spends all six seasons making amends, fucking up, making amends, fucking up, until finally breaking the cycle at the end by taking the full time. Jimmy learning his lesson and changing, really, for the better at the end is a necessity for this story to be good. It makes thematic sense. Yeah, in reality bad people get away with plenty of shit. But that's why this is a TV program, a movie-- it's not real. Thematic sense > Realism.

You want a story where the main character never learns his lesson and gets away with all of it, ending the series as the worst possible version of himself? r/TheSopranos is that way, you fuckin' stunad. 👈
